Edelweiss Tropicana Gardens floor plans: one tower, two kinds of home
Edelweiss, the fifth and final tower of Tropicana Gardens in Kota Damansara, handed over 1,027 homes in 2026, serviced residences with a fitted kitchen and SOFO studios with little more than a door lock, so interior design here starts from which of the two is yours.
Interior designer in Petaling Jaya
Two owners can share a lift at Edelweiss and open their doors on quite different rooms. One finds a kitchen with its hob, hood and washer-dryer in place and a smart-home system already wired; the other, in a SOFO, finds bare walls, air-conditioning and a digital lock.
Sundays in Bed hasn’t yet designed an Edelweiss home. When we design yours, our fee is reckoned per room and put in writing before anything starts, so nothing in a new home is decided in a hurry.
Tropicana Corporation built Edelweiss with PKNS, the Selangor State Development Corporation, as the last residential tower of Tropicana Gardens in Tropicana Indah. It is a single leasehold tower of 52 storeys on a 2.35-acre plot: launched in 2020, topped off in 2024 and in its owners’ hands in 2026, with Edelweiss Shoppes, 38 retail units over two floors, as part of the same development.

Edelweiss homes run from 452 to 1,111 sq ft built-up; eight of the eleven serviced-residence layouts have three bedrooms.

Small third rooms, and one home that can be two
A three-bedroom here can be under 900 sq ft, so the third room is small, and we plan every cupboard in it with you from the start.
Tropicana describes open layouts with multigenerational and dual-key options, and Type C, at 1,085 sq ft, is the dual-key: one front door into the main home and a second suite that can run on its own, for an older parent, a son or daughter back home, or a tenant.
Edelweiss interior design, whether you live in it or let it
At Edelweiss, we first ask who will sleep, cook and work in the home and what each corner has to hold, before tiles and fabrics; with that settled, the finishes follow easily.
If the home already runs itself
Every serviced residence comes with Tropicana’s smart-home system, which the developer says controls every aspect of the living space. Before we add a light, a switch or a curtain track, we find out what yours already runs and plan the new fittings to work with it.
If the third bedroom is small
In Types B1, B and F, between 890 and 925 sq ft, three bedrooms share two bathrooms and the third room is compact. Guest room, study, nursery or store: we give it one job first, then size the wardrobe or the desk to it, and use the wall above the door for what’s needed twice a year.
If your SOFO came bare
A SOFO is handed over with a digital lock and air-conditioning, and nothing else. We start with a kitchenette along one wall, a wardrobe and a way to put the desk away at night, then the curtains, rugs and lamps that make it look like yours.
In the 452 sq ft studios, every 30 cm counts: a bed with drawers beneath, a desk no deeper than 60 cm that folds or slides into the wardrobe run, and one tall cabinet by the door that takes the vacuum, the iron and the ironing board. The larger SOFOs, up to 858 sq ft, can give the bed a corner of its own behind a screen.
If a parent might live with you, or part of the home is to let
In the Type C, the two parts of the home want different things: the main side a family kitchen and storage, the suite its own wardrobe, a place to sit and a little kitchen shelf. We plan both sides before we choose a single finish, so each feels like a home of its own.
If the kitchen is open to the living room
Tropicana describes open layouts, so in most serviced residences the kitchen and the sofa share the same air. If you cook with a wok most evenings, a stronger hood, or a glass screen that slides shut, comes before any cabinet door, and the worktop nearest the living room is kept clear enough to read as furniture.
Who Tropicana planned it for
At launch, Tropicana named young executives, young families and empty nesters among the buyers it had in mind, and the plans cover that range, from a one-bedroom of 556 sq ft to the dual-key Type C. Whichever you are, we design for the household that actually moves in, which is rarely the one a brochure pictured.
If you’re happy with your new kitchen
The cabinets, hob, hood and washer-dryer are new and still inside the defect period. We keep them, design around them, and put the work into wardrobes, storage, lighting and soft furnishings.
What level 10 and the glass take care of
Level 10 has a 50 m infinity pool, a business centre, a yoga deck, a reading room, a gym and a children’s playroom. A SOFO owner can take a client meeting downstairs, so the studio needn’t keep a meeting table, and a reading room nearby lets a small study corner stay small.
The tower is GreenRE Silver, with low-E glass, an insulated roof and low-VOC paint. The glass takes much of the heat, so curtains here can be chosen for privacy and softness, and we match the paint standard when we touch up walls.
What interior design costs at Edelweiss, Tropicana Gardens
At Edelweiss, the Sundays in Bed design fee for a 908 sq ft three-bedroom is estimated at RM16,180–19,745, and for a SOFO studio at RM9,050–12,615, set room by room and agreed in writing before we begin.

The rooms Tropicana finished can stay off our fee. In a serviced residence, the kitchen and its appliances are weeks or months old, so the fee usually covers the bedrooms, the living and dining and the storage; in a SOFO, the kitchenette and the sleeping corner come first.
3 bedrooms: 3 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and utility yard are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
How the fee works
You’ll have the total in a signed letter before work begins, paid in stages after that. Our part doesn’t follow the contractors’ prices, so solid timber doors on a SOFO wardrobe change their quote and leave ours alone.
A 908 sq ft three-bedroom furnished at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to about RM157k–280k once our fee is added.

The lower figure is an ordinary Edelweiss layout, the living-dining space with its kitchen and every bedroom. The upper one draws a room more, perhaps the shared bathroom of a three-bedroom or a SOFO’s shower room.

How these figures are worked out
Edelweiss was handed over in 2026, so nothing here assumes a bathroom being redone. In a SOFO, the sleeping corner counts as one bedroom and the rest as the living space.
Each range allows for wardrobes, a kitchen, a hob and hood, a washer-dryer and air-conditioning. A serviced residence already has all of them except the wardrobes, so keeping them lowers your total. A SOFO arrives with the air-conditioning and the lock alone, so its kitchenette and wardrobe are part of the range from the start.

Readying an Edelweiss unit for a tenant, perhaps one who wants the MRT across the bridge? Essential, our hard-wearing level, uses Ikea, SSF Home and Harvey Norman pieces and is quick to put in, and the fee for each room stays as it is at every level.

At Edelweiss, your snag list comes first, then the drawings, then the works, with one designer beside you from the first call to moving day.
We plan and manage the site; you choose the contractors, after we’ve walked through their quotes with you.
With 1,027 homes handed over in the same year, the lifts, the loading bay and the management office at Edelweiss will be busy for months. We ask for the booking rules on day one and fit your works around them, so your delivery isn’t the one turned away at the gate.

Defects first, builders after
Edelweiss reached its owners in 2026, so the defect period your sale agreement sets, counted from your own vacant possession, is still running. Send Tropicana your list in writing and let the repairs finish before any contractor arrives.
Tropicana Indah is in Petaling Jaya, so a permit, where the works need one, comes from MBPJ, and your contractor applies for it. Management approves the works as well. Edelweiss hasn’t published what it asks of a renovation, the deposit, the hours, the lift bookings, so that is our first request to the office, before the weeks on site are planned.
Edelweiss renovation and the small things that make it yours
In an Edelweiss home, the household comes before the plan: eleven serviced-residence layouts and the SOFO studios repeat floor after floor, so the furniture, storage and light follow the people living there.
Two 908 sq ft Type Bs, one above the other, can need different things: perhaps a nursery in one and a study in the other, a wall of books here and a place for two bicycles there. We ask about your days first, whose laptop lives where, who fries what, where the pram sleeps, and plan from that.

What flats nearby have cost to renovate, by other firms
Edelweiss is new to us, and no Kota Damansara renovation has been published on our Petaling Jaya index yet, so these two come from elsewhere in Petaling Jaya, each by another firm.
At H20 in Ara Damansara, an 800 sq ft two-bedroom came to RM85,000 over fourteen weeks on site. At Verando Residence, 935 sq ft came to RM150,000 in eight weeks.

What was the price range for Edelweiss @ Tropicana Gardens?
At its 2020 launch, EdgeProp reported Edelweiss homes from RM438,000, the SOFO studios being the smallest; we don’t follow resale prices. On the design side, our fee for a 908 sq ft three-bedroom is estimated at RM16,180 to RM19,745 and for a SOFO at RM9,050 to RM12,615, with renovation and furniture for that three-bedroom around RM141k to RM260k at Curated.
When was Edelweiss Tropicana completed?
Edelweiss was topped off in 2024 and handed to its owners in 2026; Tropicana scheduled vacant possession for its 2026 financial year, and the month itself isn’t published. With the defect period still open, design and quotes can start now, and works begin once your snag list is closed.

How do you fit a bed, a desk and a kitchen into an Edelweiss SOFO?
With joinery that does several jobs. A bed behind a screen or folded into a wall, a desk that closes away and a kitchenette along one wall let a 452 sq ft studio work by day and rest at night, all drawn around the air-conditioner Tropicana fitted.
Should I replace the kitchen Tropicana handed over at Edelweiss?
Rarely. The cabinets, hob, hood and washer-dryer are new and covered by the defect period. New handles, a harder-wearing worktop or extra tall units change the look for a modest outlay, and if you cook with a wok most evenings, a stronger hood comes before anything decorative.
Will new lights and curtains work with the Edelweiss smart-home system?
They can. We check what Tropicana’s system runs in your unit, and which make it is, when we visit; then lamps, dimmers and motorised curtain tracks are chosen to pair with it, or wired separately so the two never compete.
What is the difference between an Edelweiss SOFO and a serviced residence?
