Nelson's Home Office

A darker home office can easily feel a little too serious. Here, the aim was to create something with depth and character, without making the room feel intimidating or overly formal.

The darker palette gives the room a sense of warmth and quiet, while layers of lighting keep it feeling soft and inviting. Rather than relying on solely on bright overhead light, different sources create pockets of light around the room, allowing the atmosphere to shift depending on the time of day—and how much focus or relaxation is needed.

Books have a big part to play too, with generous storage giving the collection room to grow. Among them sit a gallery wall with family photographs and personal memories, bringing a little of life outside work into the room. It means the space feels less like an office and more like somewhere that belongs to the person using it.

Because even a room for getting things done should still feel like somewhere that stimulates your mind.
