Interior designer at Tropicana Miyu
Tropicana Miyu arrives half furnished. We bring the softer half.
The kitchen, the air-conditioning and a digital lock came with the keys. We add what makes a home feel like yours: the sofa, beds, rugs, curtains, lamps and art, chosen around how you live and easy to take with you. No renovation needed.

Linen in layers, a knitted throw, a print hung low over the bed and a floor lamp that needs no new wiring. A semi-furnished bedroom becomes restful with these softer things.

Making Tropicana Miyu feel like home: floor plans and styling
Styling a Tropicana Miyu home builds on what the developer left in place, the fitted kitchen and the air-conditioning, and adds everything soft: seating, beds, rugs, curtains, lamps and art.
No works are needed. The four main floor plans are below.
Semi-furnished is a useful place to start and an odd place to stop. The rooms are cool, the hob works, the door opens with a code, and yet nothing in the home says who lives there. Our interior styling picks up from there.
MyRumahBaru lists four main layouts, each with a balcony and a yard:
- Type A, 851 sq ftTwo bedrooms, two bathrooms
- Type B, 1,030 sq ftThree bedrooms, two bathrooms
- Type C, 1,410 sq ftThree bedrooms, three bathrooms
- Type D, 1,520 sq ftFour bedrooms, three bathrooms, dual key
The Edge reported a top size of about 2,183 sq ft for the penthouses. Your plan may differ from the listings, so we measure on the visit.
North–south light, balconies and the dual-key plan
The block runs north to south, a layout MyRumahBaru says was chosen to keep out the direct west sun. Daylight stays fairly even through the afternoon, so curtains can be chosen for softness and privacy rather than to fight the heat: a sheer layer by day and a lined one for sleep.
Every type has a balcony. Two chairs that can stay out, a low table and one large planter usually make it a place for the first coffee rather than somewhere to dry towels, which the yard can do instead.
Type D is a dual-key plan, the kind that gives part of the home its own front door. We style the two parts to belong together while standing on their own, which suits a parent who lives in, a grown-up child, or guests who stay a while.
Styling a rented Tropicana Miyu home
Renting at Tropicana Miyu, every loose piece can be your choice: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains and art.
Anything drilled, built in or wired needs the owner’s written consent first, then management’s approval.
When the semi-furnished home is also a rental
Many Miyu homes are let with the developer’s fittings and little more, perhaps a bed or a sofa the owner added. We list what is there, agree with you what earns its place, and plan around it rather than over it.
Art and light without drilling
New walls are the ones owners most want left unmarked. Art can lean on a sideboard or a floor-standing ledge, a floor lamp can stand in for a wall light, and curtains can hang from tension rods where no rail has been put up.
Working back from the tenancy date
Tell us the day your tenancy starts. Beds, mattresses and curtains go on order first so the first night is comfortable; the rug and the art can arrive a week later and nobody minds.
Pieces that travel
If Miyu is one stop on a longer move, we pick a sofa that will still fit a smaller living room later and leave out anything cut to these walls.
Owners getting ready to let
If you own a Miyu home and plan to let it, styling on its own can make it ready for viewings. Furnishing for tenants with works as well is covered in the to-let note further down.
How styling works at Tropicana Miyu, first call to install
One stylist sees a Tropicana Miyu home through, from the first call to the evening the curtains go up.
We plan and keep the list; you approve what is bought; we set the rooms once it has all arrived.
Setting the rooms takes a week or two. Furniture usually takes longer, four to twelve weeks for many pieces, so whatever has the longest lead is ordered first.
One tower and its lifts serve the whole building, so delivery slots and a service-lift booking are agreed with management before a sofa leaves the shop.
- A first conversation FreeWho lives here, which type you have, what the developer and the owner left in it, and the date you want it finished.
- Seeing the home RM200, deducted from the fee if you go aheadWe measure each room, note where the air-conditioning and power points sit, and sort what is already there into keep, move or return.
- Fee first, then the planThe fee is confirmed in writing. Then each room you’ve chosen gets a layout and a buying list.
- Orders and arrivalsYou approve each purchase, and we keep track of what has been ordered, what has shipped and what is still to come.
- Install dayYour stylist returns once the deliveries are in, to place the furniture, hang the curtains, lay the rugs and light each room.
Even a two-bedroom home runs to a long list once the hooks, bins, bedside lamps and the right bulbs are counted. We keep that list, and you can ask where anything stands at any time.
What styling costs at Tropicana Miyu
Styling at Tropicana Miyu is estimated at RM6,065–7,780 for the two-bedroom Type A, RM7,780–11,210 for the three-bedroom Types B and C, and RM9,495–12,925 for the four-bedroom Type D.
Each bedroom is RM1,715 and the living and dining RM2,635, with the total agreed in writing first.
The first figure styles the bedrooms and the living and dining. The second adds rooms beyond those, such as the balcony or a corner set up for work: one more for Types A and B, which are under 1,200 sq ft, and two more for Types C and D. A room costs the same whatever its size, and none is styled free.

Types B and C: three bedrooms and the living and dining come to RM7,780; one more room makes RM9,495 for Type B, and two more make RM11,210 for Type C. Type D: four bedrooms and the living and dining come to RM9,495, or RM12,925 with two more.

What the styling fee pays for
A first conversation, face to face or by video. A visit to measure every room and see what came with the home, so nothing is bought that will not fit. A plan for each chosen room, placing furniture, art and lighting, with a list of everything to buy. And a final visit to set the rooms once the last delivery is in.
Want more than styling at Tropicana Miyu?
Most Tropicana Miyu homes need furniture more than they need works.
Some households, though, want the handover kitchen, the storage or the lighting changed to suit how they really live.
Perhaps the handover kitchen is sound but plain. There is nowhere for shoes, luggage and the vacuum. You would like wardrobes that reach the ceiling, or the second half of a dual-key home planned for a particular person. That’s where interior design comes in.
We help you decide what is worth changing in a home this new and what is better left alone, from one wall of joinery to the whole plan.
Styling furnishes the rooms. Interior design changes them.
Interior design at Tropicana Miyu, for a home you’re keeping
Tropicana Miyu’s homes are new and were handed over semi-furnished, so interior design here is rarely about undoing old work.
It is about adding what was left out: storage, joinery, lighting and a kitchen that suits your cooking.
Because so much is already in place, design here can be light-handed: keep the tiles, keep what works in the kitchen, and spend where it changes daily life.
What a Tropicana Miyu fit-out usually covers
- KeepKitchen unitsThe developer’s cabinets, hood and hob, if they suit how you cook
- AddWardrobesFull height, with drawers, shoe space and a light inside
- AddLightingLamps and concealed light for the evenings, layered over the ceiling lights
- AdaptDual keyThe second part as a guest suite, a study or a home for a parent
Renovation rules at Tropicana Miyu
Tropicana Miyu’s renovation rules aren’t published online. We get management’s current version, with the deposit, working hours and forms, before a contractor prices anything. In a building handed over this recently, it is also worth checking whether any defect claims are still open with the developer before new joinery covers them.
We haven’t designed a home at Tropicana Miyu yet. On the call we can show you our work elsewhere in the Klang Valley.
Before any works at Tropicana Miyu
Permissions come in layers. The owner’s written consent, if you rent. Management’s approval under the building’s rules. And, for some work, a permit from the local authority, which your contractor applies for.
Freestanding furniture needs none of these. Built-in joinery usually needs management’s approval; moving plumbing, taking out a wall or changing anything on the façade needs the full set.
What interior design costs at Tropicana Miyu
The Sundays in Bed design fee at Tropicana Miyu is estimated at RM19,745–26,875 for a three-bedroom home, RM23,310–30,440 for the four-bedroom dual key and RM16,180–23,310 for the two-bedroom.
It covers the design alone, is agreed in writing before work begins, and sits apart from the renovation and furniture budgets.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
Our design fee only. Works and furniture are budgeted on their own.
For a three-bedroom Miyu home we’d usually design the bedrooms and the kitchen at RM3,565 each, and the living and dining as one space at RM5,485: RM19,745. Type D’s fourth bedroom brings it to RM23,310, and the two-bedroom Type A comes to RM16,180. Two more rooms, such as both bathrooms, give RM26,875, RM30,440 and RM23,310.
Once you’ve chosen design, any room that needs styling only is styled at half the usual rate.
3 bedrooms and the kitchen: 4 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and the yard are designed free.
Each level is a range: the lower end covers the essentials, the upper end adds details such as a feature wall or an island.
What the two levels mean
Curated: melamine or laminate joinery, quartz worktops, and furniture from makers such as Commune, Cellini and Poet Living.
Bespoke: finer joinery, sintered stone, a detailed ceiling, and furniture from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C.
What the fee counts
A closed kitchen counts as a room. If yours opens onto the dining area, it is part of the living and dining instead and the fee is RM3,565 lower; we confirm it on the visit. The foyer and the yard are designed at no charge, and the fee is paid in stages.
Add works and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) to our fee, and a 1,410 sq ft Type C comes to roughly RM165k–286k in all.
| Home | Our fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type A 851 sq ft | RM16,180–23,310 | RM127k–232k | RM270k–566k |
| Types B and C 1,030–1,410 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM146k–266k | RM305k–639k |
| Type D, dual key 1,520 sq ft | RM23,310–30,440 | RM165k–300k | RM342k–713k |
Curated furniture: Commune, Cellini, Poet Living. Bespoke furniture: Space Furniture, BoConcept, Molteni&C. Neither column includes our fee.
Estimates as of October 2026; a quotation follows the visit.
How the Tropicana Miyu ranges are built
Each range is priced as a newly handed-over home, so nothing is allowed for stripping out worn finishes. Bathrooms sit outside the lower figure; add the ones you would change in the calculator.
The ranges allow for wardrobes, kitchen units, air-conditioning, a hob, a hood and a washer-dryer. Miyu homes came with some of these, so your own figure is likely to sit lower once we know what stays. Vanities are not included.
Furnishing to let?
Letting a Tropicana Miyu home? A semi-furnished home is often ready for viewings with styling alone. If you would like works as well, our Essential level, with furniture from Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman, is quick to fit and copes with changeovers, and our design fee stays the same at every level.

FAQ
Styling and interior design questions at Tropicana Miyu
How do you style a semi-furnished home at Tropicana Miyu?
We start from what is already there. The kitchen and air-conditioning stay, and we plan the seating, beds, storage pieces, rugs, curtains and lamps around them, using anything of yours that suits the rooms.
Can I style a rented Tropicana Miyu home without the landlord’s permission?
Yes, for anything freestanding: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains on rods that need no drilling, and art on a ledge. Drilling, built-ins and wiring at Tropicana Miyu need the owner’s written consent, then management’s approval.
How much does interior styling cost at Tropicana Miyu?
An estimated RM6,065–7,780 for the two-bedroom Type A, RM7,780–11,210 for the three-bedroom types and RM9,495–12,925 for the four-bedroom dual key, at RM1,715 a bedroom and RM2,635 for the living and dining. Furniture is bought separately.
What does interior styling include at Tropicana Miyu?
A first call, a measuring visit, a plan and buying list for each chosen room, and a visit to set everything up once it is delivered. A Miyu balcony can count as one of the rooms.
How long does it take to style a Tropicana Miyu home?
About one to two weeks of setting up once the furniture is in. Deliveries often take four to twelve weeks, so beds, mattresses and curtains are ordered first to meet a move-in date.
What are the floor plans at Tropicana Miyu?
MyRumahBaru lists four main types: Type A, 851 sq ft with two bedrooms; Type B, 1,030 sq ft with three; Type C, 1,410 sq ft with three bedrooms and three bathrooms; and Type D, a 1,520 sq ft four-bedroom dual key. Each has a balcony and a yard.
What came with Tropicana Miyu homes at handover?
At launch, The Edge reported that homes would be semi-furnished, with kitchen cabinets, a hood and hob, air-conditioning in every bedroom and the living room, and a digital lock. Your sale agreement shows what yours includes.
Who developed Tropicana Miyu, and when was it completed?
Tropicana built it on Jalan Harapan, Section 19, Petaling Jaya, as one 41-storey freehold block of 271 homes. MyRumahBaru gives 2024 as the completion year.
Do I need interior design or styling for my Tropicana Miyu home?
Usually styling, because the home is new and the essentials came fitted. Interior design makes sense if you want built-in wardrobes, a reworked kitchen, or the dual-key part planned around one person.
How much does interior design cost at Tropicana Miyu?
An estimated RM19,745–26,875 in design fees for three bedrooms and RM23,310–30,440 for the four-bedroom dual key, agreed in writing first. Works and furniture are separate: about RM146k–266k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for a 1,410 sq ft Type C.
Are there renovation rules at Tropicana Miyu?
Yes. Management holds them rather than publishing them, so we obtain the current rules, deposit and working hours before any quotation. Tenants need the owner’s written consent before that.
What interior design services do you offer at Tropicana Miyu?
At Tropicana Miyu we mostly style semi-furnished homes so they feel lived in, and design storage, joinery and kitchens for households staying on. We draw the plans, compare contractors’ quotes with you and manage the works on site, and contractors do the building. Styling can be booked on its own, and Virtual Design takes care of homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
