Making Verdana North Kiara feel like home: villas and layouts
Verdana’s homes are family-sized from the start, with three bedrooms at the least, and some sit at garden level.
Styling begins with which you have: an apartment villa up in the towers, or a garden villa with ground to furnish outside as well.
BRDB, the developer that also owns Bangsar Shopping Centre, built Verdana on Jalan Dutamas Raya and gave about 70% of the land to landscaping, recreation and water. The two towers hold apartment villas and garden villas; the lower block is all garden villas. Miranda Hill, BRDB’s newer development, is next door.

Garden villas, and furnishing the outside
A garden villa adds a room most flats never have. Treat it like one: chairs and a table that can stay out through the rains, two or three large planters rather than a crowd of small pots, and a lantern or outdoor lamp for the evening.
Inside, the view of green does a great deal of work. Keep the furniture low near the windows, choose fabrics in leaf, clay and sand, and let the planting outside provide the colour.
In the apartment villas higher up, the light is brighter and harder. Sheer linen at the windows softens it without darkening the room.
Styling a rented Verdana North Kiara home
A Verdana tenancy usually lets you bring in and change whatever stands on the floor.
Anything attached to walls or ceilings, from a curtain track to a garden pergola, needs your landlord’s written agreement first.
Furnishing a family-sized home for real life
With three bedrooms or more, Verdana homes are sized for families. Styling for that means washable covers, a dining table big enough for homework, rugs that forgive spills and somewhere in the living room for school bags and shoes.
We plan children’s rooms so they can change as they grow: the bed and desk chosen to last, the colours easy to swap later.
What came with the home
If the home is let furnished, we photograph each piece and decide with you what stays, what moves to another room and what goes back to the landlord. If it came bare, we plan every room together and buy in an order that lets you live there from the first week.
The garden in a tenancy
Pots, outdoor furniture and lanterns are loose items and yours to bring. Paving, built planters, awnings and outdoor lights wired to the home are works, so they need the landlord’s consent and management’s approval.
Keeping to your move-in date
Tell us the date at the start. Beds and sofas are ordered first, children’s rooms are finished before the living room, and the garden comes last.
Pieces that travel
Outdoor furniture is the hardest thing to take to a flat. If your next home may not have a garden, choose pieces that would also work on a balcony.
How a Verdana North Kiara styling project runs
One stylist sees a Verdana project through.
We agree the rooms and our fee in writing, you approve every piece, and we come back to set the home, inside and out, once the deliveries are in.
Setting the rooms takes one to two weeks for most Verdana homes. New furniture usually arrives in four to twelve weeks, so we order the largest pieces first and the outdoor ones once the inside is settled.
We ask Verdana’s management about delivery hours and lift bookings before the first van is sent.

Our estimated styling fee at Verdana is RM7,780–11,210 for a three-bedroom home and RM9,495–12,925 for four bedrooms, at RM1,715 a room and RM2,635 for the open-plan living and dining.
We agree it in writing before any work.
The first figure counts the bedrooms and the living and dining. The second adds two rooms, such as a study and a family room, or the garden of a garden villa styled as an outdoor room. Size makes no difference to a room’s fee.

That usually means the kitchen, storage, bathrooms and, in a garden villa, the threshold between inside and out.

Renovation rules at Verdana North Kiara
We could not find Verdana’s renovation rules published. Before quoting, we ask management for the current version, the deposit and the permitted hours. We have not yet designed a home at Verdana; on the first call we show you homes we have designed elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at Verdana North Kiara
A tenant first needs the landlord’s written consent. Then management’s written approval, and for some works a council permit, which the contractor applies for.
Garden paving, moving plumbing or opening up a wall will usually need all three, so we raise them early. Styling needs none.
What interior design costs at Verdana North Kiara
Our design fee at Verdana is estimated at RM19,745–26,875 for a three-bedroom home and RM23,310–30,440 for four bedrooms.
It is for the design service, agreed in writing before we start; works and furniture are separate budgets.

For three bedrooms, the first figure counts each bedroom and a closed kitchen at RM3,565, plus the living and dining at RM5,485: RM19,745. With a fourth bedroom it is RM23,310. The second figure adds two rooms, perhaps the utility room and a bathroom, giving RM26,875 and RM30,440.
With interior design, a room that only needs styling is charged at half the styling rate.
3 bedrooms and the kitchen: 4 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.

Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.

Reading the Verdana estimate
The kitchen is counted as its own room. If yours is open to the dining area, take off RM3,565; the visit confirms it. Our fee is paid in stages and does not change with the finishes you choose.
For a 1,451 sq ft three-bedroom, our fee plus renovation and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to about RM214k–356k.

Behind the renovation figures
We priced Verdana as an older home, which includes new flooring. Bathrooms aren’t in the first figure; add those you would redo. The garden of a garden villa isn’t in these figures either; we price it once we have seen it.
Furnishing to let?
Readying a Verdana home for its next tenant? If it only needs furniture, styling may cover it. If works are needed too, our Essential level (Ikea, SSF Home, Harvey Norman) goes in quickly and holds up well between tenancies. Our design fee stays the same at every level.

Yes. At Verdana we treat the garden as a room: weatherproof seating, a few large planters and an outdoor light, chosen to suit the rooms inside. Anything built or wired outside needs approval first.
Do I need my landlord’s permission to style a Verdana North Kiara home?
Loose things, no: furniture, rugs, lamps, planters and garden chairs are yours to arrange. Drilling, built-ins, new wiring or paving at Verdana are another matter, and need the landlord’s written consent and then management’s approval.
