Interior designer at The Goodwood Residence
New keys at The Goodwood, and a home that feels lived in.
However it was handed to you, empty, with the developer’s fittings or a landlord’s furniture, we’ll arrange it around everyone under the roof, with pieces that can move house again later. No renovation needed. Just a home that feels like you.

Making The Goodwood Residence feel like home: floor plans and styling
Styling at The Goodwood Residence begins with the people sharing the home, then the sofas, beds, lamps and art that suit them, with no building work.
Plans range from about 950 to 2,002 sq ft, and many have four bedrooms or more.
UOA designed this tower with multi-generational living in mind: 678 homes on Jalan Pantai Permai, a good share of them with four or five bedrooms. So the styling question is rarely just taste. A grandparent’s room may want a firm armchair and a reading lamp by the bed; a teenager needs a desk that isn’t the dining table; the living room has to seat everybody at once.
- 940–970 sq ftDual-key homes: three bedrooms split into two parts, each with its own front door
- 1,380–1,680 sq ftFour bedrooms or four plus one, with three or four bathrooms
- 2,002 sq ftFive plus one, the largest layout, with five bathrooms
StarProperty gives the overall range, 947 to 2,002 sq ft. The individual types are taken from sale listings, which disagree in places, so we measure your own.
Handover fittings and the +1 room
A recent handover usually means kitchen cabinets, bathrooms and some wardrobes in good order; your sale or tenancy agreement lists them. Styling here therefore begins with the loose furniture: what arrives with you, what a landlord left, what is missing.
Settle the +1 room early. Study, helper’s room, prayer room or suitcase store: each wants different light, and different storage.
A dual-key layout can be styled as one home or two. One part might be a studio for a grown-up child or a visiting parent, with its own door; we make the two feel related without either depending on the other.
Styling a rented home at The Goodwood Residence
Tenants at The Goodwood Residence can change anything that isn’t attached: furniture, rugs, lighting you plug in, curtains, art.
Drilling, hacking or new built-ins need the landlord’s written approval first, then management’s.
A furnished unit with a big household
Start with the shared rooms. Where everyone eats, sits and drops their shoes matters more than any one bedroom, so we judge the landlord’s dining set and sofa against the number of people actually living there.
What the tenancy agreement allows
Look for the clauses on alterations and furnishings. Shelves and curtain rods usually need the landlord’s yes; anything wired, plumbed or built in needs it in writing. A rail on its own feet in the +1 room, or plug-in lamps instead of new lights, avoids the question.
Five bedrooms, one move-in date
We often split it: beds and the dining table before you arrive, the living room a few weeks later, once it’s clear how the family uses it.
Pieces for the home after this one
Beds, lamps, rugs and a dining table move house easily. A sofa sized for a 2,002 sq ft living room may not, so we choose large pieces that will still work in a smaller room.
Owners letting a unit
Styling can make a Goodwood unit ready for tenants with no works at all. In a dual-key home we can style each part separately, so either can be let or lived in.
Styling at The Goodwood Residence, from first call to install day
One stylist runs your Goodwood home from that first conversation to the evening the last bed is made.
We plan the rooms, you decide what to buy, and we arrange everything once it is delivered.
On site, styling is one to two weeks. Supplier lead times, usually four to twelve weeks, decide the overall date, so beds and dining table are ordered first.
In a 40-storey tower, the lift is the bottleneck. We get management’s delivery hours and lift booking rules before anything is scheduled, so five bedrooms of furniture doesn’t arrive on five separate mornings.
- First, who lives here FreeHow many generations, who needs which room, and what the shipment holds.
- Measuring the home RM200, deducted if you go ahead with usAll bedrooms, the +1 room and the balcony measured, and existing furniture logged.
- Written fee, then room plansWe agree rooms and fee in writing, then send a layout and buying list for each room, beds and table first.
- Orders and deliveriesBuy from the list yourself or pass it to our Procurement Concierge; we track one schedule for every room.
- Setting the roomsWith it all delivered, your stylist places the furniture, hangs pictures, lights lamps and dresses the beds.
A move with several generations, a shipment and a handover date is a lot to hold at once. We keep the schedule, and you can check in any time.
What styling costs at The Goodwood Residence
At The Goodwood Residence, styling is an estimated RM9,495–12,925 for a four-bedroom or 4+1 and RM11,210–14,640 for a 5+1.
We charge RM1,715 a room and RM2,635 for the open living and dining, in writing before work begins.
Bedrooms plus the living and dining make the lower figure. The upper one adds two rooms, the +1 room as a study and the balcony, say. Dual-key homes are worked out room by room after the visit, and a big room costs the same as a small one.
| Home | Lower figure covers | Lower figure | Upper figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 or 4+1 about 1,380–1,680 sq ft | Four bedrooms, living and dining | RM9,495 | RM12,925 |
| 5+1 2,002 sq ft | Five bedrooms, living and dining | RM11,210 | RM14,640 |
Four bedrooms at RM1,715 plus RM2,635 gives RM9,495, or RM12,925 with two extra rooms; five bedrooms give RM11,210, or RM14,640.
Figures estimated October 2026. Furniture is paid for separately, chosen from a list built to your budget.

Want more than styling at The Goodwood Residence?
Often new furniture is all a Goodwood home asks for.
Sometimes the rooms are new but not yet arranged for the people living in them.
Wardrobes fitted for a stranger’s clothes. A +1 room with no storage at all. That is the point where design helps.
We work out with you what to keep, what to change and what deserves doing properly, from one room to the whole household’s plan.
Styling furnishes the home as built. Interior design reshapes it around your household.
Interior design at The Goodwood Residence, built around your household
Kitchens and bathrooms at The Goodwood Residence are recent and seldom need replacing.
Design work here is mostly about fitting the home to the family: wardrobes, a study in the +1 room, storage for two or three generations.
Typical requests: wardrobes that hold a family’s clothes, a +1 room that doubles as study and guest room, a kitchen where two people can cook side by side. It can happen in stages.
What interior design usually covers at The Goodwood Residence
- KeepKitchen, bathsRecent fittings rarely need replacing early on
- AdaptWardrobesInner fittings, lights and doors suited to what they hold
- Add+1, storageA study, a parent’s room or a store, with joinery to match
- CheckPlan, kitchenListings don’t show open or closed kitchens; your plan does
Your agreement lists what came with the home, and we check it against the rooms themselves.
Renovation rules at The Goodwood Residence
Works go through the building’s management under its house rules, which we couldn’t find published; we ask for the current copy, deposit and working hours before quoting. If the home is still within its defects period, read that clause in your sale agreement before altering anything the developer built.
We haven’t yet designed a Goodwood home ourselves, so the first call takes you through our homes elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at The Goodwood Residence
Three approvals, in sequence: a tenant’s landlord, in writing; the building’s management, under its rules; and, where needed, a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) permit, which your contractor applies for.
Relocating plumbing or removing a wall usually needs all three, so it comes up at our first meeting. Furniture alone needs none.
What interior design costs at The Goodwood Residence
Designing a four-bedroom or 4+1 at The Goodwood Residence is an estimated RM23,310–30,440 in fees, and a 5+1 RM26,875–34,005.
The fee covers our design work and is set in writing at the outset; building work and furniture have budgets of their own.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
Our fee is for the design service. Renovation and furniture are separate budgets, shown below.
A household brief here typically takes in every bedroom plus the kitchen, each at RM3,565, and the shared living and dining at RM5,485. Four bedrooms: 5 × RM3,565 + RM5,485 = RM23,310. Five: 6 × RM3,565 + RM5,485 = RM26,875. Add the +1 room built out as a study and one bathroom reworked, and the totals become RM30,440 and RM34,005.
Our Procurement Concierge is part of any interior design commission, and rooms that only need furnishing are styled for half the usual rate.
4 bedrooms and the kitchen: 5 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
Notes on the Goodwood figures
We’ve assumed a kitchen behind a door, which counts as a room. Newer towers often open the kitchen to the dining area; if your plan does, RM3,565 drops away, and the visit settles it.
For a 1,390 sq ft four-bedroom, our fee plus Curated renovation and furniture (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) totals roughly RM188k–323k. Upgrades show in the contractor’s quote; the design fee you agreed doesn’t move.
| Home | Our fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4+1 about 1,380–1,680 sq ft | RM23,310–30,440 | RM165k–300k | RM342k–713k |
| 5+1 2,002 sq ft | RM26,875–34,005 | RM186k–368k | RM381k–856k |
Curated furniture comes from makers such as Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Our fee sits outside both columns.
October 2026 estimates; your quotation comes after we’ve seen the home.
How we priced a Goodwood home
Because the homes are recent, the ranges assume the existing floors stay. The lower figure redoes no bathroom; the calculator lets you add them.
Each range carries wardrobes, kitchen units, bedroom air-conditioners, washer-dryer, hob and hood. Most Goodwood homes already have some of these from handover, and those come off. Vanities are outside the ranges.
Furnishing to let?
Preparing a Goodwood unit for tenants? Furniture alone is a styling job. Where works are needed too, the Essential level, furnished from Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman, is fast to fit and copes with turnover. The design fee is identical at every level.
