Interior designer at Serai Saujana
Serai Saujana, beside the golf course, and settled into home.
The View’s homes are big enough that a few boxes of belongings can rattle around in them. We fill the space with fewer, larger, better-chosen pieces, keep what already works, and pick things that will still suit a smaller place later. No renovation needed. Just a home that feels like you.

Timber, linen and one sculptural piece. Large rooms like those at The View carry a few big gestures better than many small ones.

Making Serai Saujana feel like home: floor plans and styling
At Serai Saujana’s The View, styling is mostly a question of scale: rooms this generous need larger rugs, deeper seating and fewer objects, all of which can be done without works.
The floor plans below give a sense of the space.
Serai Saujana is two developments on one piece of land in Seksyen U2, Shah Alam, beside Saujana Golf & Country Club. The View is the apartment half: two 15-storey blocks holding 169 homes, completed in 2010. The other half, The Villa, is a group of three-storey houses, and they are not what this page is about.
The View was sold in six designs, and even the smallest is close to 1,800 sq ft. Above them sit duplex penthouses.
- 1,817 sq ftTwo bedrooms, two bathrooms
- 2,173 sq ftThree bedrooms plus one, four bathrooms
- 1,817–3,271 sq ftAll six standard designs
- 4,526–6,108 sq ftDuplex penthouses; the smallest has four bedrooms and five bathrooms
StarProperty and MyRumahBaru give these sizes, but only three of the six designs are described anywhere we found. We measure every home ourselves.
The central vacuum, and other things the home came with
Homes at The View were delivered with air-conditioning, a washing machine, a dryer and a central vacuuming system, which is worth knowing about before the furniture arrives.
That vacuum shapes the furniture plan more than people expect. Its inlets are set into the walls, and a sideboard or headboard pushed over one makes it useless. On the visit we mark each inlet on the plan and keep it reachable.
In the 3+1, the extra room is open to interpretation. We look at its light and size, then suggest a study, a room for guests, or storage for luggage and sports kit.
Styling a rented Serai Saujana home
If you rent at Serai Saujana, everything loose is yours to rearrange or replace: seating, beds, lighting, rugs, curtains, art.
Anything attached, drilled or plumbed needs the owner’s written agreement and the building management’s approval.
A big home with someone else’s furniture
Furnished lets at The View can feel sparse, because furniture bought for an ordinary apartment looks small in these rooms. We list what is there and decide with you what earns its place.
Often the fix is to gather rather than replace: one large rug that pulls a seating group together, a pair of lamps, a console behind the sofa. The room starts to feel intentional.
Reading the tenancy before you hang anything
Your agreement will have a clause on alterations. Moving furniture is fine; screws, rods and shelves generally need the owner’s nod; built-ins, wiring and plumbing need it in writing, plus management’s approval.
Where permission is refused, a leaning mirror, a standing coat rail, plug-in wall lights and curtains on the existing tracks get you most of the way.
Keys on a set date
Share the date on our first call. We order the slowest items first, sofa, dining table, beds, and finish one bedroom before the rest so the first night is calm.
Choosing for this home and the next
A living room at The View invites a very large sofa, and that is the piece least likely to fit your next home. We often suggest modular seating or two smaller sofas instead, and rugs and lamps that work in most rooms.
Owners between tenants
An owner can refresh a home at The View without works: the joinery kept, tired loose furniture replaced, rooms dressed for photographs. The Furnishing to let note below covers the case where works are also needed.
Styling at Serai Saujana, from first call to install day
At Serai Saujana you deal with one stylist throughout.
We plan, you approve each purchase, and we return to arrange everything once it is delivered.
The styling takes a week or two of our time. Furniture that is ordered new usually takes four to twelve weeks, so the slow pieces are decided first.
We check delivery hours and lift bookings with the building’s management before arranging any van. For a duplex penthouse we also measure the internal stair, because a sofa that fits the lift may not turn the corner upstairs.
- A first talk about the move FreeWho is moving in, what is being shipped, what the home has now, and when you’d like to be living there.
- Measuring the rooms RM200, deducted if you go ahead with usEach room measured, the vacuum inlets and the extra room noted, and the existing furniture sorted into keep, move and return.
- The fee, then the room plansWe agree the rooms and our fee in writing, then send a plan and buying list for each room, longest lead first.
- Sourcing on your timetableBuy from the list yourself or through the Procurement Concierge; we keep track of every delivery.
- InstallationYour stylist places furniture, hangs art, sets out lamps and makes up the beds, ready for the first evening.
Moving to Saujana can mean a long list: shipping, schools, cars, a landlord’s inventory. We keep the styling part of it organised and answer questions whenever they come up.
What styling costs at Serai Saujana
Styling at Serai Saujana is estimated at RM6,065–9,495 for the two-bedroom home and RM7,780–11,210 for a 3+1, at RM1,715 per room and RM2,635 for the open-plan living and dining.
The figure is written down and agreed before anything begins.
The first figure styles the bedrooms and the living and dining; the second adds two rooms, for example the extra room as a study, and a dressing area. Every room is charged, and a large room costs no more than a small one, which at The View works in your favour.
| Home at The View | First figure includes | Estimate from | With two extra rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two bedrooms 1,817 sq ft | Two bedrooms, living and dining | RM6,065 | RM9,495 |
| 3+1 2,173 sq ft | Three bedrooms, living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
| Duplex penthouse 4,526–6,108 sq ft | Four bedrooms, living and dining | RM9,495 | RM12,925 |
Arithmetic: 2 × RM1,715 + RM2,635 gives RM6,065, and two more rooms give RM9,495. 3 × RM1,715 + RM2,635 gives RM7,780, then RM11,210. For a four-bedroom penthouse, RM9,495 to RM12,925; a second living area upstairs is priced after the visit.
Estimated in October 2026. Furniture is bought separately, from a list we tailor to your budget.
What happens in a styling project here
We talk first, in person or on video, over your photographs and plan. We then visit to measure, find the vacuum inlets and see your furniture, using what we can. Each room gets a layout and a list of what to buy, lighting and textiles included, and once the deliveries arrive a stylist puts the rooms together.
If you’d rather not handle the buying, the Procurement Concierge places orders and coordinates deliveries for you.
Want more than styling at Serai Saujana?
A home at The View may need nothing more than furniture.
Or the furniture may be fine and the kitchen, sixteen years on, may be the real issue.
Bathrooms that feel dated, wardrobes that don’t suit you, a kitchen you’d cook more in if it worked better: these are design questions.
We help you choose what to keep, what to change and where to spend properly, from a single bathroom to the whole home.
Styling makes the home yours as it stands. Interior design changes what stands.
Interior design at Serai Saujana, when home needs a little more
The View at Serai Saujana is low in number, two blocks of 169 homes, and generous in size.
But sixteen years after completion, some of the original kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes may be ready for a rethink.
These homes don’t need more space; they need the space they have to work for how you live.
That might be a kitchen laid out for a household that cooks, a bathroom you look forward to, or wardrobes and storage that make the most of large rooms. We can stage the work so the home stays usable.
What a Serai Saujana renovation usually covers
- KeepSpaceRooms large enough that no renovation needs to add any
- AdaptWardrobesWhere the carcasses are sound, new doors, lighting and fittings may be enough
- RenewKitchen, bathsThe usual first projects for a long stay, done in stages if needed
- CheckVacuum, planThe central vacuum runs through the walls, so any wall moved or cabinet built in starts with finding its pipes
The agreement you signed lists what came with the home; we check it against what is there.
Renovation rules at Serai Saujana
Serai Saujana’s renovation rules don’t appear to be published. Before quoting, we ask management for the current set, including the deposit, permitted working hours and forms. We haven’t designed a home here yet; on the first call we show you our work elsewhere in the Klang Valley.
Before any works at Serai Saujana
There are three approvals to line up. Tenants need the owner’s written consent; everyone needs management’s written approval; and where the local council requires a permit, the contractor applies for it.
Plumbing, walls, anything structural, and anything that touches the vacuum pipework tends to need all three, so we raise it early. Styling that doesn’t drill needs none of it.
What interior design costs at Serai Saujana
Our design fee at Serai Saujana is an estimated RM16,180–23,310 for the two-bedroom home and RM19,745–26,875 for a 3+1, agreed in writing first.
It pays for design; renovation and furniture are budgeted on their own.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
Our fee is for the design service. Renovation and furniture are separate budgets, shown below.
For the two-bedroom home, the starting figure counts both bedrooms and the kitchen at RM3,565 each, with the living and dining at RM5,485: RM16,180. A 3+1 adds a third bedroom: RM19,745. Two more rooms, such as a bathroom and the extra room, take them to RM23,310 and RM26,875. Penthouses are counted room by room.
Interior design includes the Procurement Concierge, and rooms that only need styling are styled at half the usual rate.
2 bedrooms and the kitchen: 3 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
Notes on the Serai Saujana estimate
The kitchen is priced as a separate room. If yours is open to the dining area, subtract RM3,565; the visit will tell. Our fee is paid in stages and doesn’t change when you pick a costlier material.
Together, our fee and works and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) come to about RM185k–310k for the 1,817 sq ft two-bedroom home.
| Home at The View | Design fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two bedrooms 1,817 sq ft | RM16,180–23,310 | RM169k–293k | RM337k–664k |
| 3+1 2,173 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM196k–359k | RM386k–802k |
Curated is furnished from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Both are works and furniture without our fee.
Estimates as at October 2026; a quotation follows.
What the works figures assume
The View is priced as an older home, including new floors. Bathrooms are left out of the starting figure; add the ones you’d change in the calculator.
Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer, hob and hood are included; keep the originals and they come off. Vanities are not counted.

FAQ
Questions about styling and design at Serai Saujana
How do you style a Serai Saujana home that came with furniture?
By deciding what earns its place. At Serai Saujana’s The View, a landlord’s furniture often looks small in the rooms, so we keep the good pieces, group them on larger rugs and add only what is missing.
Do I need my landlord’s permission to style a Serai Saujana home?
Not for anything free-standing. At Serai Saujana you can change furniture, rugs, lamps and curtains on existing tracks, and lean art rather than hang it. Drilling or works need the owner’s written consent and management’s approval.
What does styling cost at Serai Saujana?
An estimated RM6,065–9,495 for the two-bedroom home and RM7,780–11,210 for a 3+1. That is RM1,715 per bedroom and RM2,635 for the living and dining, with two more rooms at the top end. The fee is agreed in writing; furniture is extra.
What is in a Serai Saujana styling project?
A call, a measuring visit, a layout and buying list per room, and a day when the stylist installs it all. At Serai Saujana you can style one room or the whole home, buying yourself or through our Procurement Concierge.
How long does styling take at Serai Saujana?
One to two weeks of styling once things arrive, and four to twelve weeks for new furniture. For a Serai Saujana move we order slow pieces first and can hold the first call by video before you arrive.
Does the central vacuum at Serai Saujana affect where furniture can go?
A little. Homes at Serai Saujana’s The View were handed over with a central vacuuming system whose inlets sit in the walls. We find them on the visit and keep them clear of sideboards, beds and bookcases, and plan any built-in joinery around the pipes.
What are the floor plans at Serai Saujana’s The View?
Six designs of about 1,800 to 3,300 sq ft, including a 1,817 sq ft two-bedroom and a 2,173 sq ft 3+1, plus duplex penthouses of about 4,500 to 6,100 sq ft. The Villa houses on the same land are separate three-storey homes.
Should I choose styling or interior design for a Serai Saujana home?
Styling if the home works but feels empty or impersonal. Interior design if the kitchen, bathrooms or wardrobes at Serai Saujana need changing. Many people style now and design later, one room at a time.
What is the interior design fee at Serai Saujana?
Estimated at RM16,180–23,310 for the two-bedroom home and RM19,745–26,875 for a 3+1 at Serai Saujana, agreed in writing. It covers bedrooms, kitchen and living and dining, with two more rooms at the upper end. Renovation and furniture are separate, about RM169k–293k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for the 1,817 sq ft home.
Does Serai Saujana have renovation rules?
Yes, through the building’s management, though they aren’t published. We ask for Serai Saujana’s current rules, deposit and working hours before quoting; tenants need the owner’s written consent first.
What services do you offer at Serai Saujana?
Styling for tenants and owners at Serai Saujana, room by room, and interior design for kitchens, bathrooms and joinery. We draw, compare contractors’ quotes with you and oversee the works, which contractors build. Styling and the Procurement Concierge can be booked separately, and Virtual Design serves homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
