Interior designer at Stonor Park
Just two homes on every floor.
Twenty years in, it deserves a second look.
Thoughtfully designed around the way you live, and what you’d like to spend.

Why do two homes a floor and 10-foot ceilings shape a Stonor Park brief?
Two homes share each floor of its two towers, with 10-foot ceilings and fully glazed balconies, and most were first lived in around 2006. So the work here is renewal, at a generous scale.
Sundays in Bed is a Kuala Lumpur studio that designs homes and manages their renovation. For a Stonor Park apartment, we price the design room by room and put that figure in writing before any work starts.
Benéton Properties built Stonor Park on freehold land on Jalan Stonor, off Persiaran KLCC. Its two 20-storey towers were finished in 2006, with two homes on each floor, and won a FIABCI Malaysia Property Award in 2007.
Stonor Park units run from 2,314 to about 8,000 sq ft built-up.
- 2,314 sq ftThree bedrooms and a helper’s room with its own bathroom; four bathrooms in all
- 3,218–3,358 sq ftFour bedrooms plus a helper’s room, five bathrooms
- About 6,000–8,000 sq ftThree-storey penthouses with a rooftop garden under the roof canopy
Two homes to a floor changes the arrival. There’s no long shared corridor, and listings describe a private lift lobby, so home can begin at the lift door. Whether that lobby is legally yours or common property isn’t published, so we check before drawing beyond your front door.
The rooms are tall: 10-foot ceilings and 8-foot doors. Full-height joinery and curtains hung high keep that height. A bulkhead for new air-conditioning gives some back, so we plan its line with care.
And the building is twenty years old. Many homes have had an earlier renovation, some recent, some tired. We see yours before suggesting what should change.
Which rooms in a twenty-year-old Stonor Park home deserve the budget first?
The state of what you can’t see, then the light, then how the household actually uses the kitchen. Those three settle most of the budget before a finish is chosen.
Twenty years of plumbing. A 2006 home can look sound and still hide tired waterproofing, ageing pipes or a distribution board sized for fewer appliances. A plumber and an electrician see it first, so surprises land in the estimate, not halfway through the works.
Walls of glass. The architects, Architects 61, gave the towers large glazed walls and fully glazed balconies. That brings in generous daylight, and afternoon heat with it. Sheers, solar film and fabrics that resist fading come before any sofa is chosen.
Kitchens and the helper’s room. One listing we’ve seen pairs an open dry kitchen with a wet kitchen, and the helper’s room has its own bathroom. Where yours has both kitchens, we keep that split, which suits a wok, and treat the dry side as part of the dining room.
The penthouses. The top homes run over three storeys, with a rooftop garden beneath the canopy. Everything hangs on the staircase: which level receives guests, which one sleeps the family, and what shade and planting make the roof usable by day.
What’s worth keeping. Tall doors, generous proportions and a sound earlier renovation are hard to buy back. Where a previous owner’s kitchen carcasses or stone are in good order, we refront or refinish them and put the money where use has worn through.
What does it cost to renew and furnish a Stonor Park 4+1?
Homes this size usually need most rooms redone, so the fee follows the room count. For a 3,218 sq ft 4+1 here, the Sundays in Bed design fee is estimated at RM41,135–48,265; for a 2,314 sq ft 3+1, RM34,005–41,135. Your final fee depends on the rooms you choose, and is agreed in writing before we begin.
With our fee and Curated finishes (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living), a 4+1 here comes to about RM363k–635k in all.
Spend on what twenty years have worn. In a home of this age that is usually the bathrooms, the wet kitchen and the lighting, and rarely the helper’s room. Tick only the rooms you want drawn. Fee and ranges stay estimates until contractors price the drawings.
4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms and the dry and wet kitchens: 10 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and utility yard are designed free.
Within each level, the low end is the essentials; the high end adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine and laminate, sintered stone, a plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Bespoke laminate, detailed joinery, a ceiling with cornice. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
| Home | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|
| 4+1 3,218–3,358 sq ft, five bathrooms Estimated fee RM41,135–48,265 | RM322k–594k | RM592k–1.21M |
| 3+1 2,314 sq ft, four bathrooms Estimated fee RM34,005–41,135 | RM274k–488k | RM510k–1.01M |
| Penthouse About 6,900 sq ft, three storeys Estimated fee RM48,265–55,395 | RM370k–715k | RM674k–1.44M |
The lower figure prices a usual Stonor Park brief: the living and dining, both kitchens, every bedroom, and all but one bathroom. The higher one adds two more rooms, such as that last bathroom and the helper’s room turned into a study.
At Curated, furniture comes from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; at Bespoke, from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C.
These are resale homes first lived in around 2006, and not every bathroom needs designing, so each row leaves one out. It’s usually the helper’s en-suite.
Sizes and bathroom counts come from sale and rental listings and vary between homes; the penthouse row follows one listed three-storey home. It prices the rooms only; the staircase and rooftop garden are priced after the visit. We confirm yours on the visit.
The +1 is priced as a helper’s room, left as it is.
Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, a hob and hood and air-conditioners are all priced as new; where an earlier renovation left them sound and you keep them, expect less. These are October 2026 estimates, not a quotation.
Furnishing to let? Stonor Park asking rents run RM7,000–14,000 monthly. A lighter, hard-wearing fit-out at our Essential level, quicker to finish and easy to keep tenant-ready, is one possibility, with furniture from Ikea, SSF Home and Harvey Norman. The design fee is the same at every level.
Renovation and furniture at Essential, before our fee: 4+1 RM183k–308k · 3+1 RM155k–252k · Penthouse RM212k–371k.
Where the fee comes from. RM3,565 for each bedroom, bathroom or study we design here, and RM5,485 for the open-plan living and dining. Each kitchen, dry and wet, counts as a room. A 4+1 has five bathrooms; any you’re happy with simply aren’t counted.
The total is set down in writing before work begins and paid in stages as the project moves. It doesn’t rise with the contractors’ bills, so choosing marble over porcelain for the master bathroom changes the works, not our fee.
Start from your number. Whether it’s a light refresh of an earlier renovation or the full twenty-year overhaul, tell us what you plan to spend. We draw to it, and flag early anything that won’t fit.
How does a renovation run when one neighbour shares your floor?
Quietly, and with notice. You and your neighbour share a pair of lifts, so every delivery and every noisy week is felt next door. One designer stays with your Stonor Park project throughout; licensed contractors do the building, chosen by you after we’ve gathered their quotes and gone through them with you.
- First, a conversation FreeYour layout, whether 3+1, 4+1 or penthouse, who lives with you, what an earlier owner changed, and the figure you have in mind.
- A visit to the apartment RM200, waived if you go ahead with usWe measure, open the distribution board, look for leaks in the bathrooms, note where the sun falls through the glazing, and list what’s worth saving.
- The written scopeRooms, budget and fee go on paper and are agreed. Then the design: layouts, lighting, joinery drawn to the 10-foot ceilings, materials and furniture.
- Drawings to quote fromDetailed drawings let every contractor price each item the same way. We gather the quotes, walk you through the differences, and you choose who builds.
- Building, then stylingWe book the lifts and deliveries with the management, inspect each stage against the drawings, and dress the rooms before you come home.
Your one neighbour on the floor hears every drill, so we tell them, and the management, when the loud weeks fall. Pipes and wiring go in before ceilings and tiles, so nothing is opened twice. The full process
DBKL, then the management office. Jalan Stonor is in Kuala Lumpur, so the renovation permit is a DBKL matter, applied for by your licensed contractor. Stonor Park’s management also has to approve the works in writing before anyone starts.
The building hasn’t published its renovation deposit, permitted working hours or how lifts are booked for contractors. We get the current rules from the management office first and build the schedule around them.
Will my home look like my neighbour’s on the floor?
No. You may share a plan with the home next door, but not a household. Twenty years of other people’s choices are already in these rooms; the next ones should be yours.
We begin with how your home actually runs: who cooks in which kitchen, whether a parent comes to stay for months, which art and inherited pieces need a wall. Those answers settle the rooms long before a fabric does.
What an older Stonor Park home usually needs
- KeepHeight, doors10-foot ceilings and 8-foot doors; we avoid bulkheads that bring them down
- AdaptKitchens, bathroomsThe kitchen, in some homes a dry and wet pair, and four or five bathrooms, from 2006 or a later owner’s renovation
- AddShade, lightSheers and film for the glazed balconies, and lighting circuits for how you live now
Nothing of the developer’s original specification is online, and owners have changed many homes over twenty years. What yours has, we see on the visit.
What renovations have cost around Jalan Stonor
We haven’t yet designed a home at Stonor Park, so we won’t show you one. The nearest published renovation records come from its neighbours: two at Suria Stonor, 2,700–3,300 sq ft, for RM600,000–1,000,000, and one at Park Seven, 3,000 sq ft, for RM450,000.
That’s RM150–303 per sq ft, against a KLCC median of RM158 across 18 records. At that median, a 3,218 sq ft 4+1 would come to about RM510,000, within the Curated range above.
Each building’s figures are on our KLCC renovation cost index.

Stonor Park questions, answered
Is the lift lobby ours to design?
Listings describe a private lift lobby, but whether it’s legally yours, shared with your neighbour or common property isn’t published. We ask the management before drawing beyond your front door.
What does renovating and furnishing a five-bathroom 4+1 run to?
For a 3,218 sq ft 4+1, renovation and furniture usually come to about RM322k–594k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) or RM592k–1.21M at Bespoke (Space Furniture, BoConcept, Molteni&C), before our fee. The bathrooms and wiring move it most.
Can the helper’s room become a study?
Often. In the listings we’ve seen, it has its own bathroom, which helps. A study also needs fresh air and air-conditioning, so we check the window and where a unit could go on the visit before promising anything.
Will new air-conditioning cost us the 10-foot ceilings?
Not if it’s planned. Wall-mounted units need no bulkhead. Ducted ones do, but one run along a wall or above the wardrobes can hide them and keep most of the room at full height. We decide once we see where pipes can go.
How do you deal with heat through the glazed balconies?
In layers. Solar film on the glass, sheers for the day and lined curtains for the afternoon, then rugs and upholstery that won’t fade quickly. On the visit we note which rooms take the strongest sun, and choose those rooms’ fabrics first.
How do you plan a three-storey penthouse here?
Level by level, starting with the staircase. We settle which floor receives guests and which sleeps the family, then how the rooftop garden can be shaded and planted for daytime use. Large pieces for the upper floors are measured against the lift before they’re ordered.
