Interior designer at Kiaraville
A chair on the lanai, and Kiaraville feels like home.
Bare, half furnished or full of a landlord’s choices, a Kiaraville home can feel like your family’s within weeks: the right sofa, lamps, rugs and art, chosen for how you live and easy to take to the next place. No renovation needed. Just a home that feels like you.

A sofa, a rug, a few lamps and the art on one wall. Nothing here is built in, so all of it can move with you to the next home.

Making Kiaraville feel like home: floor plans and styling
In a Kiaraville home we style the rooms you have, lanai included, with furniture, light, rugs and art, and leave the walls alone.
These are the plans most families move into.
Kiaraville sits on Jalan Changkat Duta Kiara. BEP Arkitek designed it with a curved, fair-faced concrete wall at the entrance and, in the homes, a lanai: a covered balcony with windows, which StarProperty describes as a French touch. Most homes have three or four bedrooms plus one.
- About 1,600–1,900 sq ftThree bedrooms plus one, three bathrooms or more
- About 2,400 sq ftThree bedrooms plus one, in a larger plan
- About 3,500 sq ftFour bedrooms, a helper’s room, five bathrooms and a powder room
StarProperty gives 1,593–3,935 sq ft and EdgeProp 1,595–3,500 sq ft; the plans above come from EdgeProp’s and PropertyGuru’s published unit details. The sources disagree at the top end, which is one more reason we measure.
What comes with the home, and what to keep
Expect the kitchen cabinets and wardrobes to be in place: EdgeProp describes one Kiaraville home as partly furnished with those two. After eighteen years, some will be originals and some replacements, and the visit tells us which.
Built-ins set the frame: the wardrobe wall fixes where a bed can go, and the cabinet colour narrows the choice of dining chairs. Loose furniture from a previous household is sorted into keep, move or return. Your own pieces get placed first, and new ones fill the gaps.
The lanai is the room most people forget to furnish. Covered and windowed, it can take a reading chair, a small table and plants that would not last on an open balcony, and it is often the first corner that makes the home feel lived in.
Then the +1 room: a study, a playroom, a guest room or a store for suitcases, depending on its size and window.
Styling a rented Kiaraville home
On a Kiaraville lease, the loose things are yours to choose: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains, art.
Drilling, hacking and built-ins wait for the landlord’s written consent, then management’s.
A family home on a lease
Many Kiaraville homes are big enough for a family with children and a helper, and the tenancy still sets the rules. We plan the children’s rooms, the +1 room and the lanai with loose pieces only, so nothing has to be undone when the lease ends.
If the home came with a landlord’s furniture, we list it room by room as keep, move or return before anything is bought.
What the alterations clause usually covers
Furniture, rugs, lamps and art are yours to change. Hooks, rods and shelves leave holes, so they usually need the landlord’s agreement; hacking, built-ins, rewiring and plumbing need it in writing, then management’s approval.
For the lanai, sheers or blinds on tension rods and freestanding planters avoid drilling altogether. Inside, a picture ledge or art leaned on a console does the same job as a row of hooks.
Planning around a school term
Kiaraville is close to Mont Kiara International School and Garden International School, and many moves follow a term date. We plan backwards from it: long-lead pieces first, the children’s rooms and the main bedroom before the rest, and the shipment slotted in on the day it lands.
Pieces for the next home
A 3,500 sq ft plan invites a large sofa that the next home may not have room for. We lean towards sectional sofas, extendable dining tables and rugs that work in two sizes of room, and keep anything made to measure to a minimum.
Letting your Kiaraville home
If you own a Kiaraville home and let it, styling can ready it for the next tenancy without works: the built-ins kept, the loose furniture refreshed, the lanai set up. The Furnishing to let note further down covers homes that need works as well.
Styling at Kiaraville, from first call to install day
Your Kiaraville home has one stylist throughout.
We plan it room by room, you approve and buy, and when the deliveries are done we set every room up in person.
The styling itself is one to two weeks of work once the pieces are in. New furniture takes four to twelve weeks to arrive, so for a family moving before a term starts, the sofa, beds and dining table are ordered first.
With six blocks on one site, a delivery van needs to find the right one. We get the block’s loading point and delivery hours from management before the large pieces are booked.
- A first call about the household FreeWho is moving in, school dates, what is in the shipment, what came with the home, and the night you’d like to sleep there.
- A visit with a tape measure RM200, deducted if you go ahead with usEvery room measured, the lanai and the +1 room looked at, and any furniture already there sorted into keep, move or return.
- Our fee in writing, then the room plansThe rooms and our styling fee, agreed in writing. Then a placement guide and shopping list for each room, long-lead pieces at the top.
- OrderingBuy from the shortlist yourself, or let our Procurement Concierge place the orders and book each delivery to the right block.
- Install dayWith everything in, your stylist places the furniture, hangs the art, sets up the lanai and makes the beds.
School dates, a container at sea and a landlord’s inventory all move at once. We keep the list, and you can check where things stand at any point.
What styling costs at Kiaraville
For a Kiaraville 3+1 we estimate RM7,780–11,210 to style, and RM9,495–12,925 for a 4+1.
Rooms are RM1,715 each and the open-plan living and dining RM2,635, set down in writing before any work starts.
The lower figure covers the bedrooms and the living and dining. The upper adds two more rooms, at Kiaraville most often the lanai and the +1 room as a study or playroom. No room is styled free, and a bigger room doesn’t cost more.
| Home | Lower figure covers | Lower figure | With more rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3+1 about 1,600–2,400 sq ft | Three bedrooms, living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
| 4+1 about 3,500 sq ft | Four bedrooms, living and dining | RM9,495 | RM12,925 |
Working it through for a 3+1: RM1,715 × 3, plus RM2,635, gives RM7,780; with the lanai and a study, RM11,210. A 4+1 starts at RM9,495 and reaches RM12,925 with the same two rooms.
These are October 2026 estimates rather than a quote. Furniture is bought on top, from a shortlist pitched at the budget you give us.
What styling includes at Kiaraville
The first call, a visit to measure, and for each room we style a placement guide and a shopping list: where the furniture goes, which lamps and rugs, how the art hangs, and what turns the lanai into somewhere to sit. When the pieces have arrived, your stylist styles the rooms in person.
If you’d rather not order and chase deliveries yourself, our Procurement Concierge can do it.
Want more than styling at Kiaraville?
For plenty of Kiaraville households, furniture is enough.
For others, the plan has started to show its age, and a new rug won’t change that.
The wardrobes were fitted for someone else’s life, and an eighteen-year-old bathroom stays eighteen years old however it is dressed. That is where interior design comes in.
If Kiaraville has become the long-term home, we’ll help decide what is worth changing properly, from one tired bathroom to a kitchen planned around how your family eats.
Styling works with the home as it is; interior design changes it, in the rooms that need it.
Interior design at Kiaraville, when home needs a little more
Kiaraville’s homes have space, a +1 room and the lanai.
Eighteen years after completion, it is the kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes that families most often want to rethink.
For a household settling in for years, the questions change: whether the kitchen suits how you cook, whether the children’s rooms will still work in five years, whether the bathrooms are worth redoing now or after the next school move. We help you put those in order and design them room by room.
What a Kiaraville renovation usually covers
- KeepLanai, layoutThe lanai and the +1 room are already there; most briefs build on them
- AdaptWardrobesSound carcasses can take new doors, inner fittings and lighting
- RenewKitchen, bathsWhere a long stay usually starts, and the order is up to you
- CheckFacingStarProperty notes highway noise for some homes; for those, heavier glazing or curtains can help
We read what your agreement says the home came with, then check it room by room.
Renovation rules at Kiaraville
Kiaraville’s renovation rules don’t appear to be published. We ask management for the current version before quoting, with the deposit, permitted hours, forms, and which block’s lift contractors may use.
We have not yet designed a Kiaraville home, and we say so; on the first call we take you through Kuala Lumpur homes we have designed.
Before any works at Kiaraville
Tenants start with the landlord’s written consent. Then comes management’s written approval, and for some works a permit from the city authority, which the contractor handles.
At Kiaraville, enclosing the lanai, moving plumbing or taking out a wall are the jobs that need all three, so we bring them up at the first meeting. Styling with nothing drilled needs none.
What interior design costs at Kiaraville
Our design fee for a Kiaraville 3+1 is an estimated RM19,745–26,875, and RM23,310–30,440 for a 4+1.
It covers the design work and is agreed in writing first; renovation and furniture are their own budgets.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
Our fee is for the design service. Renovation and furniture are separate budgets, shown below.
A usual Kiaraville brief takes in the bedrooms and the kitchen at RM3,565 a room, plus RM5,485 for the living and dining together. In a 3+1 that is four rooms and the living space, RM19,745; a 4+1 has five, RM23,310. With a bathroom redone and the +1 fitted as a study, the figures rise to RM26,875 and RM30,440.
Our Procurement Concierge is part of interior design, and any room that only needs styling is styled for half the fee.
3 bedrooms and the kitchen: 4 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
How the fee works
The kitchen is in the count because most sit behind a door. If yours opens onto the dining area, take RM3,565 off; the visit settles which you have. Our fee is agreed in writing and doesn’t move: dearer materials show up in the contractor’s price, and we invoice in stages.
Put our fee together with renovation and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) and a 1,909 sq ft 3+1 comes to roughly RM214k–356k.
| Home | Our fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3+1 about 1,600–2,400 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM194k–336k | RM383k–752k |
| 4+1 about 3,500 sq ft | RM23,310–30,440 | RM223k–433k | RM436k–953k |
Furniture at Curated is from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; at Bespoke, from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. The two columns cover renovation and furniture only.
October 2026 estimates; a quotation follows the visit.
Behind the renovation figures
Each range prices a Kiaraville home as an older one with new floors. Bathrooms aren’t redesigned in the lower figure; the calculator adds them.
Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer, hob and hood are all in the ranges, so anything you keep from chapter 01 comes off. Vanities are outside them.

Preparing a Kiaraville home for its next tenants? Styling may be all it takes. If works are due, our Essential level, with Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman furniture, fits out faster and copes with changing households, and our fee is the same at any level.

FAQ
Styling and interior design questions at Kiaraville
How do you style a Kiaraville home that came partly furnished?
We keep the kitchen cabinets and wardrobes Kiaraville homes usually have, sort any previous household’s loose furniture, and buy only what is missing. The lanai is planned as a room in its own right, often the cheapest place to make the home feel lived in.
Can I style a rented Kiaraville home without the landlord’s permission?
For anything loose, yes: furniture, rugs, lamps, art on a ledge, and sheers or blinds on tension rods in the lanai. Drilling, hacking or building in at Kiaraville needs your landlord’s written consent first, and works then need management’s approval. We go through the alterations clause with you before planning.
How much does interior styling cost at Kiaraville?
Around RM7,780–11,210 for a 3+1 and RM9,495–12,925 for a 4+1. Bedrooms are RM1,715 each and the open-plan living and dining RM2,635; the top of each range adds two rooms, usually the lanai and the +1 room. Agreed in writing; furniture is extra.
What does interior styling include at Kiaraville?
A first call, a measuring visit, then a placement guide and shopping list for each room you choose, the lanai included, and a day when your stylist styles the rooms once everything has arrived. At Kiaraville you can start with the children’s rooms or the whole home, and our Procurement Concierge can handle the ordering.
How long does it take to style a Kiaraville home?
One to two weeks of styling after delivery, and deliveries take four to twelve weeks. For a school-term move to Kiaraville, a first call six to ten weeks ahead leaves room, and it can be by video from abroad.
What is the lanai at Kiaraville, and how do you style it?
The lanai is Kiaraville’s covered, windowed balcony. Sheltered from rain, it suits a reading chair, a small table, a soft rug and plants that wouldn’t survive outside. We style it like any other room, and everything in it can leave with you.
What are the floor plans at Kiaraville?
Kiaraville homes run from about 1,600 sq ft to over 3,500 sq ft, mostly three bedrooms plus one or four plus one, four to a floor across six blocks of 9 to 18 storeys. Published sizes vary at the top end, so we measure.
Do I need interior design or styling for my Kiaraville home?
Styling, if the home works and needs to feel like your family’s: furniture, lighting, rugs and art, with no works. Interior design, if the kitchen, the bathrooms or the wardrobes at Kiaraville no longer suit how you live. Many families style first and redesign once they know they are staying.
How much does interior design cost at Kiaraville?
We estimate RM19,745–26,875 for a 3+1 and RM23,310–30,440 for a 4+1, covering the bedrooms, kitchen and living and dining, with two extra rooms at the top of each range. Renovation and furniture are separate: about RM194k–336k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for a 1,909 sq ft 3+1.
Does Kiaraville have renovation rules?
Yes, set by Kiaraville’s management, though we couldn’t find them published. Before quoting we ask for the current copy, covering the deposit, working hours, forms and which block’s lift contractors may use, and we check before anything on the lanai is enclosed. Tenants need the landlord’s written consent first.
What interior design services do you offer at Kiaraville?
At Kiaraville we style family homes on a lease or owned, lanai included, and design kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes for households staying on. We draw the plans, compare contractors’ quotes with you and manage the works on site, and contractors do the building. Interior styling and our Procurement Concierge are available without a full design, and Virtual Design looks after homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
