Interior designer at Kiara Park
Under the mahogany trees, a Kiara Park home made yours.
A flat at Kiara Park can come empty, half set up, or with three decades of other people’s furniture still in it. We help it feel like yours with the loose things: sofas, lamps, rugs, art, chosen for your household and free to leave with you one day. No renovation needed. Just a home that feels like you.

Candles, a record cabinet, a curved sofa and framed prints above it. Every piece here could be carried out the door tomorrow.

Making Kiara Park feel like home: floor plans and styling
At Kiara Park, styling works with the rooms and fittings a home already has and brings in furniture, lighting, rugs and art around them.
Nothing is knocked down or rebuilt. The layouts listed below are the ones published for the estate.
EdgeProp calls Kiara Park the oldest condominium in TTDI, and once inside you understand why it has aged well. Seven of its eight blocks rise only four storeys, set among more than 400 trees, and some of the mahoganies now stand as tall as a nine-storey building. Most of what we do here starts from that: rooms that look into leaves, not across at another tower.
- 1,400–1,450 sq ftTypes A and B, each with three bedrooms and two bathrooms
- About 2,000 sq ftThree-bedroom duplexes, living space split over two levels
- 2,700–2,800 sq ftTypes C and D, the estate’s biggest plans
StarProperty lists the four lettered types; MyRumahBaru adds the duplexes, with an approximate size, and says the estate has homes of three to five bedrooms. Neither publishes bedrooms for C and D, so on a visit we simply count them.
Thirty-odd years in, and what stays put
Few flats handed over in 1993 are untouched. In one Kiara Park home you may find a kitchen an earlier owner redid in the 2010s next to wardrobes that have never moved, and both are fine to live with.
So we sort before we shop. Fitted things, the wardrobes and kitchen units, stay where they are and set the terms: the bed goes where the wardrobe doors can still open, and dining chairs are picked to sit well beside the cabinet colour. Loose pieces that came with the flat are judged one by one. Your own belongings get first claim on the good walls.
Leafy windows bring in a softer, greener light than a high floor does. We answer it with warmer bulbs, table lamps in the dim corners rather than more downlights, and upholstery a shade richer than you might choose for a brighter flat.
Styling a rented Kiara Park home
If you rent at Kiara Park, everything that stands on the floor or hangs from what is already there is yours to change.
Drilling, built-ins or any works need your landlord’s agreement in writing, and the management corporation’s approval follows.
When the flat came with furniture
Landlords’ furniture in an older estate has often outlived a few tenancies. We go room by room with you and mark each piece: keep it, move it, or ask for it to go. A heavy teak dining table is usually worth keeping and dressing with better chairs; a tired three-seater is the conversation to have with the landlord early.
A lot can change before anything is bought. New shades on old lamps, one rug that actually fits the seating, and pictures rehung at eye level shift a Kiara Park living room further than a new sofa would.
Reading your tenancy before we plan
The clauses on furnishing and alterations decide the plan. Anything freestanding is yours to bring and take. Nails, rails and wall shelves leave marks, so most landlords want to be asked; hacking, rewiring, plumbing or new joinery need written consent and then the management corporation’s say.
When a landlord says no, we work around the walls: pictures propped on a ledge or a long sideboard, a standing clothes rail, uplighters and table lamps for a dark room, and curtains clipped to the rod that is already up.
Getting furniture in
Seven of the eight blocks are four storeys high, so a sofa may travel by stair or by a small lift. On the visit we measure the turns and the door frames, and we check the way in with management before anything long or heavy is ordered.
Give us your moving-in date on the first call. Bedrooms are finished first so the household sleeps properly from night one; slower pieces such as the sofa are ordered at the start because they take longest to arrive.
Choosing pieces for the move after this one
A Type D living room swallows a big sofa, and the next flat may not. For the larger plans we often use two smaller sofas or a sofa and a pair of chairs, which split happily between rooms later. Rugs, lamps and pictures go anywhere.
Getting a flat ready for new tenants
Owners letting a Kiara Park flat can use styling on its own to freshen it between tenancies: fittings left as they are, worn loose pieces replaced, each room photographed well. If the flat also needs works, see Furnishing to let further down.
Styling at Kiara Park, from first call to install day
A Kiara Park styling job runs through one person, your stylist, from the first conversation to the morning the last lamp goes on.
You approve each purchase; we plan, follow up and set it all out.
Setting up the rooms takes a week or two. If you are buying new, allow another four to twelve weeks for furniture to be made and shipped, which is why the slow pieces are chosen first.
Kiara Park has a management corporation and a property manager on site, so delivery times and the route in for big pieces are agreed with them before a lorry is booked.
- We talk about the household No chargeWho will live in the flat, what is on its way from your last home, what the landlord left, and when you need a bed to sleep in.
- A measuring visit at Kiara Park RM200, taken off the fee if you go aheadEach room measured, the stair and door widths checked for the larger pieces, and the existing furniture sorted into keep, move and return.
- Your fee, then the room plansWe confirm which rooms and the fee in writing. After that come the layouts and a buying list, with the slowest pieces at the top.
- Buying, at the pace you setOrder from the list yourself or let our Procurement Concierge do it. Either way we track what has landed and what is still on a ship.
- The setting-up dayWith everything delivered, your stylist arranges the rooms in person: furniture in place, pictures up, lamps on, beds made.
A move into an older estate has its own small puzzles: a narrow stair, a landlord’s list, a sofa due the week the school term starts. We hold all of it, and you can ask where things stand whenever you like.
What styling costs at Kiara Park
Our styling fee for a three-bedroom Kiara Park flat is estimated at RM7,780–11,210.
Each bedroom or extra room is RM1,715, the open living and dining area is RM2,635, and we agree the figure with you in writing first.
The RM7,780 end of the range is the three bedrooms plus the living and dining. Two more rooms take it to RM11,210: a study, a dressing room, or the second sitting area in a duplex. Every room we style is charged, and a big room costs the same as a small one.
| Kiara Park flat | Rooms in the lower figure | From | Plus two rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three bedrooms 1,400–2,000 sq ft | Three bedrooms, living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
The sum: three bedrooms at RM1,715 plus RM2,635 for living and dining is RM7,780; add two rooms at RM1,715 and it is RM11,210. In a Type C or D, every bedroom past the third adds another RM1,715.
Estimated in October 2026; your written quote follows the visit. The furniture itself is a separate spend, chosen from a list we put together to your budget.
What you get for the styling fee
An opening conversation, face to face or on video, looking at your photos and plan. A measuring visit at Kiara Park where we also go through what you already own and use it first. Then, room by room, a layout showing where each piece sits and how the walls are hung, plus a buying list for the lights, fabrics and objects that finish it. When the deliveries are in, your stylist comes back and sets every room up.
Prefer not to place the orders yourself? Our Procurement Concierge can buy, track and receive everything on your behalf.
Want more than styling at Kiara Park?
For many Kiara Park flats, new furniture is enough.
In others the sofa is the least of it, and the kitchen or the bathrooms are where the years show.
Perhaps the wardrobe doors no longer close properly, or the bathroom tiles date the whole flat. Changing those is interior design, not styling.
We can help you decide which parts of a thirty-year-old home deserve the money, whether that turns out to be one bathroom or everything from the front door in.
Styling settles you into the flat as it stands. Interior design changes the flat itself.
Interior design at Kiara Park, when home needs a little more
Kiara Park’s plans start at about 1,400 sq ft and sit among mature trees.
After more than thirty years, though, an unrenovated flat here usually needs its kitchen, bathrooms and wiring looked at.
When you want to change the home rather than furnish it, we plan the work with you, and it can go one room at a time, beginning wherever matters most.

Renovation rules at Kiara Park
The estate is run by the Kiara Park management corporation, which works with Henry Butcher Malaysia (Mont Kiara) as property manager. EdgeProp wrote about both when Kiara Park took Gold among strata homes ten years and older at its 2021 property management awards, and mentioned the replacement of the old lifts in the high-rise block.
Kiara Park’s renovation rules aren’t published that we could find, so we request the current version, with its deposit, permitted hours and forms, before any quote. We haven’t yet designed a home at Kiara Park; on our first call we’ll show you homes we have designed in other parts of Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at Kiara Park
Approvals come in a set order. Tenants first need the landlord’s consent on paper. Then the management corporation approves the works under its rules. Where the job requires one, the contractor you appoint also applies for a local council permit.
Relocating a bathroom, removing a wall or touching the structure is what most often needs all three, so we bring it up at the very start. Furniture, lamps and rugs need none.
What interior design costs at Kiara Park
For a three-bedroom Kiara Park flat, our design fee is estimated at RM19,745–26,875.
That pays for design only and is agreed in writing at the start; the renovation and the furniture are budgeted separately.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
Our fee is for the design service. Renovation and furniture are separate budgets, shown below.
A usual Kiara Park brief covers the three bedrooms and the kitchen at RM3,565 each, and the living and dining at RM5,485: four rooms plus the open space, RM19,745. Redo both bathrooms as well and it is RM26,875. In Types C and D, each bedroom beyond three adds RM3,565.
Design clients get our Procurement Concierge as part of the service, and any room that only needs furnishing is styled for half the usual styling fee.
3 bedrooms and the kitchen: 4 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
Reading the Kiara Park figures
The kitchen is counted as one room because in most older flats it has its own door. If a previous owner opened yours to the dining room, take RM3,565 off; we’ll see which on the visit. Our fee is settled in writing and paid in stages, so a pricier worktop changes the builder’s bill, never ours.
Put together, the design fee plus renovation and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to roughly RM214k–356k for a 1,400 sq ft three-bedroom flat.
| Kiara Park flat | Design fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Type A or B, three bedrooms 1,400–1,450 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM194k–336k | RM383k–752k |
| Duplex, three bedrooms about 2,000 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM194k–336k | RM383k–752k |
Curated means furniture from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke, from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Both columns are renovation plus furniture, before our fee.
October 2026 estimates; a quotation comes after the visit.
Where the ranges come from
Each range prices a resale flat getting new floors throughout. Bathrooms are left out of the lower figure; add the ones you would redo in the calculator.
Included in each range: wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, bedroom air-conditioning, a washer-dryer, hob and hood. Keep newer ones you already have and the figure drops. Bathroom vanities are not included.
Furnishing to let?
Getting a Kiara Park flat ready for its next tenant? If the fittings are sound, styling alone may do. Where works are needed too, our Essential level, furnished from Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman, is quicker to install and copes with the turnover of tenants. The design fee is the same at every level.

FAQ
Styling and interior design questions at Kiara Park
How do you style a Kiara Park home that came furnished?
By sorting before shopping. In a Kiara Park flat the fitted wardrobes and kitchen stay, every loose piece the landlord left is marked keep, move or go, and only then do we fill gaps. Older flats often need less new furniture than people expect: lampshades, a properly sized rug and rehung art go a long way.
Can I style a rented Kiara Park home without the landlord’s permission?
For freestanding things, yes: sofas, rugs, lamps, curtains on the existing rail, pictures on a ledge. Anything screwed, drilled or built into a Kiara Park flat needs your landlord’s written agreement, and works also need the management corporation’s approval.
How much does interior styling cost at Kiara Park?
Roughly RM7,780–11,210 for a three-bedroom Kiara Park flat. That is RM1,715 for each bedroom and RM2,635 for the open living and dining, with the higher figure covering two extra rooms such as a study. We agree it in writing first, and furniture is paid for separately.
What does interior styling include at Kiara Park?
An initial conversation, a measuring visit, a layout and buying list for every room you choose, and a setting-up day when everything has arrived. You can style a single bedroom at Kiara Park or the whole flat, and either buy the pieces yourself or have our Procurement Concierge handle orders.
How long does it take to style a Kiara Park home?
About one to two weeks of setting up once the furniture is in. New pieces generally take four to twelve weeks to arrive, so at Kiara Park we order the slow items first and check stairs and doorways for them during the visit.
What are the floor plans at Kiara Park?
Published plans run from about 1,400 to 2,800 sq ft: Types A and B (1,400 and 1,450 sq ft) with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, three-bedroom duplexes of roughly 2,000 sq ft, and Types C and D at 2,700 and 2,800 sq ft.
When was Kiara Park built, and how many homes does it have?
Kiara Park was finished in 1993, and EdgeProp describes it as TTDI’s oldest condominium. It holds 351 homes in seven four-storey blocks and one 18-storey block, on about 11 freehold acres with more than 400 trees.
Do I need interior design or styling for my Kiara Park home?
Choose styling if the flat works and simply doesn’t feel like yours yet. Choose interior design if something about the flat itself has to change: a 1993 kitchen, the bathrooms, old wiring. You can start with styling at Kiara Park and add design later, a room at a time.
How much does interior design cost at Kiara Park?
For a three-bedroom Kiara Park flat our design fee is estimated at RM19,745–26,875, agreed in writing before work starts. The lower figure covers bedrooms, kitchen and the living and dining; the upper adds two rooms. Renovation and furniture are on top, around RM194k–336k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for 1,400 sq ft.
Does Kiara Park have renovation rules?
It does: works go through the Kiara Park management corporation, though we couldn’t find the rules published. We ask for the current set, including deposit, working hours and forms, before quoting. Tenants need the landlord’s written consent before that.
What interior design services do you offer at Kiara Park?
At Kiara Park we style rented and owned flats room by room, and redesign the kitchens, bathrooms and joinery of homes that have had thirty years of use. We draw the plans, compare contractors’ quotes with you and manage the works on site, and contractors do the building. Interior styling and our Procurement Concierge are available without a full design, and Virtual Design looks after homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
