Interior designer at KaMi Mont Kiara
New keys at KaMi Mont Kiara, and a home that already feels yours.
KaMi’s homes are compact, some fitting three bedrooms and a utility room into under 1,400 sq ft. That makes every chair, lamp and rug a decision worth getting right. We choose them around the people living there, and nothing needs hacking or drilling.

Oak, shearling and a single branch. In a compact room, a few pieces with real presence beat a roomful of small ones.

Making KaMi Mont Kiara feel like home: layouts and styling
Styling a KaMi Mont Kiara home is mostly about scale: furniture sized for compact rooms, storage that also works as a surface, and one bedroom given a second job.
Here are the developer’s seven layouts.
Ireka’s United Time Development built KaMi as a 168-home serviced residence, with a Japanese-inspired idea of living behind the design. It’s among the newer addresses in Mont Kiara, and its homes are small by the neighbourhood’s standards, which is exactly why the furniture matters so much.
- 840 sq ftType A: two bedrooms, an open kitchen and a small pantry
- 980–1,076 sq ftTypes B and B1: two bedrooms and a study, with a lanai in B1
- 1,324–1,442 sq ftTypes C, D and E: three bedrooms, a utility room, a dry kitchen and a lanai
- 1,604 sq ftType F: three bedrooms, a study, a utility room and a lanai
From the developer’s floor plans, which show twelve homes on a typical floor and two bathrooms in each. Some listings count the utility room as a fourth bedroom; on the plans it sits beside the yard, with a store.
Small rooms, chosen carefully
KaMi homes reach their residents in different states: fully furnished, partly furnished or empty. We note what’s there on the visit rather than guess.
Then the scale questions. A queen bed instead of a king can give back room for a bedside table on each side. A sofa on slim legs, with a low back, lets the floor run underneath and the room read larger. A bench with storage inside does the work of a cabinet and a seat.
The building’s Japanese-inspired idea, carried downstairs into an onsen and a Japanese garden, is a useful guide indoors too: pale oak, linen, paper shades, and fewer, better pieces rather than many small ones.
Most layouts open the living room onto a lanai. Two low chairs and a small table out there give a compact home a second place to sit in the evening.
In a three-bedroom home, the third bedroom is often more useful as a study or a guest room that folds away, while the utility room beside the yard takes the luggage, the ironing board and the vacuum. We settle that first, because it changes what the other rooms need.
Styling a rented KaMi Mont Kiara home
As a tenant at KaMi Mont Kiara you can change anything that stands on its own: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains and art.
Drilling or building in needs the landlord’s written agreement, and management’s after that.
Making a furnished unit feel personal
When a KaMi home comes furnished, we sort the supplied pieces with you into keep, move and return. In small rooms, taking one bulky piece out often helps more than adding two new ones.
Textiles do a lot of the work cheaply: a better rug, linen bedding, curtains in a warmer weight.
What the tenancy lets you do
Read the inventory and the alterations clause. Free-standing items are yours to change. Hooks, rails and shelves usually need a yes from the landlord; built-in work, wiring and plumbing need it in writing, then management’s approval.
Without drilling: art on a narrow ledge, a free-standing clothes rail in the spare room, and floor lamps rather than new ceiling points.
Moving in quickly
Tell us the date you need to be in. We finish the bedrooms first, order the slow pieces, sofa and dining table, straight away, and leave cushions and pictures for last. If your own boxes are on the way, the plan leaves space for them.
Furniture that will move with you
Pieces bought for a KaMi home are already sized for compact rooms, so they tend to fit the next home easily. We avoid made-to-measure items so almost everything can travel.
Owners letting a KaMi home
Owners preparing a home for tenants often need only furniture and finishing. We keep what’s built in, choose durable pieces and dress the rooms for the next tenant. Homes that need repairs too are covered in Furnishing to let, below.
Styling at KaMi Mont Kiara, from first call to install day
The same stylist handles your KaMi Mont Kiara home throughout: first call, plan, purchases and the day it’s all set up.
Styling on site takes a week or two. If you’re ordering new furniture, deliveries usually take four to twelve weeks, so the longest waits are ordered first.
We confirm delivery hours and lift booking with management, and check sofa and table dimensions against the lift and doorways, before anything big is scheduled.
- A short first call No feeWho’s living here, what came with the home, what’s arriving, and your move-in date.
- A visit with a tape measure RM200, credited to the fee if you continueRooms measured, the smallest bedroom assessed for a second use, and existing pieces sorted keep, move or return.
- The fee, then the plansRooms and fee confirmed in writing, followed by a placement plan and shopping list per room, slow items first.
- BuyingBuy from our list, or let our Procurement Concierge handle orders and deliveries. We track what’s arrived.
- Set-up dayWhen everything has arrived, your stylist arranges the rooms in person: furniture placed, art up, lamps on, beds made.
Lease dates, deliveries and a landlord’s inventory: we keep track of it all, and you can check in with us whenever you like.
What styling costs at KaMi Mont Kiara
Our estimate for styling at KaMi Mont Kiara is RM6,065–7,780 for two bedrooms and RM7,780–11,210 for three.
Bedrooms are RM1,715 each, the open living and dining RM2,635, and the total is agreed in writing first.
The lower figure styles the bedrooms with the living and dining. The upper one adds one room in the two-bedroom homes, usually the study, and two in the three-bedroom homes, which are all over 1,200 sq ft. Every styled room has a fee, regardless of size.
| Home | In the lower figure | Lower figure | With more rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 bedrooms Types A, B, B1 · 840–1,076 sq ft | Two bedrooms, living and dining | RM6,065 | RM7,780 |
| 3 bedrooms Types C, D, E, F · 1,324–1,604 sq ft | Three bedrooms, living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
The maths: two bedrooms at RM1,715 plus RM2,635 is RM6,065, and the study makes RM7,780. Three bedrooms plus RM2,635 is RM7,780, or RM11,210 with two more rooms, such as a study or the lanai.
October 2026 estimates, not a quote. Furniture is bought separately, from a shortlist suited to your budget.
The styling fee covers
A call, a measuring visit, then per room a placement plan and a list of the furniture, lighting, textiles and art to buy, and an install day with your stylist on site once everything has arrived.
Our Procurement Concierge can do the ordering and chase the deliveries for you.
Want more than styling at KaMi Mont Kiara?
Most KaMi Mont Kiara homes need furniture, not works.
But a new home can still have rooms that don’t suit how you live.
The wardrobes don’t fit what you own. The smallest bedroom wants a desk built in. The kitchen has nowhere for the things you use daily. That’s interior design.
We’ll help you work out what to change and what to leave, a single cupboard or every room.
Styling furnishes the home you have. Interior design adjusts the home itself.
Interior design at KaMi Mont Kiara, for the long run
KaMi Mont Kiara’s homes are new, so design here is about making a compact plan work harder for you, not replacing tired rooms.
Wardrobes fitted inside for your clothes, a study built into the smallest bedroom, lighting that lets one room do two jobs: we can plan it all at once or a room at a time.
What KaMi Mont Kiara interior design usually covers

Renovation rules at KaMi Mont Kiara
KaMi’s renovation rules aren’t published, and a newer building’s rules may still be settling, so we ask management for the current copy, with deposit, hours and forms, before quoting.
We haven’t designed a KaMi home before; on the first call we’ll show you work from elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at KaMi Mont Kiara
First the landlord’s written consent if you rent. Then management’s approval under its rules. Then, where the work requires it, a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) permit, which your contractor secures.
Moving plumbing or taking out a wall usually needs all three, so we raise it straight away. Styling needs none of them.
What interior design costs at KaMi Mont Kiara
For KaMi Mont Kiara, the Sundays in Bed design fee is estimated at RM12,615–19,745 for a two-bedroom home and RM16,180–23,310 for three bedrooms, agreed in writing.
It’s the design fee alone; renovation and furniture have a budget of their own.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
This covers design only. Renovation and furniture are a separate budget, set out below.
KaMi’s kitchens open onto the dining area, so they sit inside the living and dining at RM5,485. Each bedroom, and the study where a plan has one, is RM3,565: RM12,615 for type A, RM16,180 for type B1 or a three-bedroom type D, and RM19,745 for type F. The upper figures add two rooms, such as a bathroom redone and a dressing room.
Interior design includes our Procurement Concierge, and rooms needing only styling are charged at half the styling rate.
3 bedrooms: 3 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
Reading the KaMi Mont Kiara figures
Every KaMi plan opens the kitchen to the dining area, so it sits inside the living and dining figure. Close it off behind glass or a sliding door and it becomes a room of its own, at RM3,565. Fees are agreed in writing and paid in stages, and a dearer finish changes the contractor’s quote, not ours.
Our fee plus Curated renovation and furniture (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to roughly RM157k–283k for the 1,399 sq ft three-bedroom type D.
| Home | Our fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 bedrooms, type D 1,399 sq ft | RM16,180–23,310 | RM141k–260k | RM300k–631k |
| 3 bedrooms + study, type F 1,604 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM152k–278k | RM319k–668k |
| 2 bedrooms + study, type B1 1,076 sq ft | RM16,180–23,310 | RM133k–245k | RM284k–595k |
| 2 bedrooms, type A 840 sq ft | RM12,615–19,745 | RM122k–226k | RM264k–558k |
Curated furniture is from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Our fee is excluded from both.
Estimates as at October 2026; not a quotation.

FAQ
Styling and interior design questions at KaMi Mont Kiara
My KaMi Mont Kiara home came furnished. What happens to the existing pieces?
We sort them with you into keep, move and return, and leave the built-ins alone. In compact rooms, removing one bulky piece often helps more than buying two new ones.
Can I restyle a rented KaMi home without asking my landlord?
For free-standing items, yes: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains on existing rails, art on a ledge. Drilling or building in needs written consent from the landlord, and works need management approval too.
How much is interior styling at KaMi Mont Kiara?
Estimated at RM6,065–7,780 for a two-bedroom home and RM7,780–11,210 for three bedrooms. Bedrooms are RM1,715 each and the open living and dining RM2,635; the upper figure adds one room in the two-bedroom homes and two in the three-bedroom ones, which are all over 1,200 sq ft. Furniture is extra.
What’s in the styling service at KaMi Mont Kiara?
A call, a measuring visit, a plan and buying list for each room, and a set-up day with your stylist once everything’s delivered. One room or all of them.
How fast can you style a KaMi Mont Kiara home?
A week or two on site after deliveries. New furniture usually takes four to twelve weeks, so slow items are ordered first, and planning can start by video.
Will KaMi furniture suit my next home?
Usually, because it’s already sized for compact rooms. We avoid made-to-measure pieces so nearly everything can move with you; built-in joinery stays.
What layouts does KaMi Mont Kiara have?
Seven, on the developer’s floor plans: two bedrooms at 840 sq ft (type A); two bedrooms and a study at 980 or 1,076 sq ft (B and B1); three bedrooms and a utility room at 1,324 to 1,442 sq ft (C, D and E); and three bedrooms, a study and a utility room at 1,604 sq ft (F). Each has two bathrooms and a kitchen open to the dining area.
Is styling or interior design right for my KaMi Mont Kiara home?
Styling if the rooms suit you and need furniture and art. Interior design if you want fitted wardrobes, a built-in study or a reworked kitchen. You can begin with styling and add design later.
How much is interior design at KaMi Mont Kiara?
Our design fee is estimated at RM12,615–19,745 for a two-bedroom home and RM16,180–23,310 for a three-bedroom type D, agreed in writing. Renovation and furniture are separate: about RM141k–260k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for the 1,399 sq ft type D.
Are there renovation rules at KaMi Mont Kiara?
Yes, but they aren’t published. We ask management for the current copy, with deposit, hours and forms, before quoting. If you rent, the landlord’s consent comes first.
Which services does Sundays in Bed offer at KaMi Mont Kiara?
Styling for tenants and owners, and interior design for fitted joinery, kitchens and bathrooms. We draw, compare contractors’ quotes with you and oversee works that contractors build. Procurement Concierge works on its own, and Virtual Design serves homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
