Making Izen Kiara feel like home: layouts and first pieces
Izen Kiara is two buildings from one developer, and the homes differ more than the shared name suggests.
Izen Kiara 1 runs from one bedroom to three; Izen Kiara 2 is made up of three-bedroom homes. Styling starts with knowing which you have.
Ireka built both under its i-Zen name, a few years apart. Izen Kiara 2 came first, finished in 2005 at the entrance to Jalan Kiara, across from Plaza Mont Kiara. Izen Kiara 1 followed in 2008, a 35-storey tower near the same plaza, with shops in its podium.

Small rooms, and the highway side
In the one- and two-bedroom homes, scale is everything. A sofa with slim arms, a round table that seats four, a bed with drawers beneath: each saves a little floor, and together they keep the room calm rather than full.
StarProperty notes that many Izen Kiara 1 homes face or angle towards the highway. Lined, floor-length curtains and a dense rug soften traffic noise with no works at all, and they darken a bedroom for sleep. Double glazing is a bigger step and needs management’s approval.
The utility room in the larger three-bedroom plans is easy to waste. With a clothes rail and shelving that stands on its own, it becomes a dressing room, or the place the suitcases live.

Izen Kiara 2 is run as a serviced residence with a concierge, which helps on delivery days: guests can be received and couriers met. We still confirm the delivery hours and lift booking with management before any furniture arrives.
What needs permission
Shelves, curtain tracks, a television bracket or a wall light all alter the home, so each needs written consent. Without it, a leaning mirror, a tall bookcase, a television on a low cabinet and plug-in lamps do the same work.

Izen Kiara 2’s homes, finished in 2005, and Izen Kiara 1’s, from 2008, may still have their original kitchens and bathrooms. A long stay is a good reason to change them, and it can be done a room at a time.

Neither building publishes its renovation rules online. Before quoting, we ask your building’s management for its current rules, the deposit and the working hours. We have not designed a home at Izen Kiara; on the first call we show you homes we have designed elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at Izen Kiara
If you rent, the landlord’s written consent comes first. Then management’s written approval, and for some works a council permit, which the contractor applies for.
Replacing windows, moving a sink or taking out a wall will usually need all three, so we raise them on the first call. Furniture and lamps need none.
What interior design costs at Izen Kiara
Our design fee at Izen Kiara is estimated at RM16,180–23,310 for a two-bedroom home and RM19,745–26,875 for three bedrooms.
It covers the design work only and is agreed in writing; renovation and furniture are separate budgets.

For a two-bedroom 2B, the first figure counts both bedrooms and the kitchen at RM3,565 each, with the living and dining at RM5,485: RM16,180. A three-bedroom adds one more bedroom: RM19,745. The second figure allows two more rooms, a bathroom and the utility room perhaps, for RM23,310 and RM26,875.
With interior design, any room that needs only styling is charged at half the styling rate.
2 bedrooms and the kitchen: 3 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.

Reading the Izen Kiara estimate
We have treated the kitchen as a separate room. If yours opens onto the living area, take RM3,565 off; we confirm it on the visit. The fee is paid in stages and stays as agreed, whatever finishes you choose later.
For a 913 sq ft two-bedroom, our fee plus renovation and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to roughly RM185k–310k.

Both buildings are priced as older homes, so flooring is included. Bathrooms aren’t in the first figure; add the ones you would redo in the calculator. Wardrobes, kitchen cabinets and the main appliances are; keep the existing ones and the figure falls.
