Interior designer at Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur

A Four Seasons Place home, finished, and now made yours.

These residences come with their finishes done and, often, someone else’s furniture in place. We bring in the lamps, rugs, art and the few good pieces that turn a well-appointed flat into the place you come back to. Nothing is hacked, nothing is rebuilt. Just a home that feels like you.

01Making it feel like home

Making Four Seasons Place feel like home: floor plans and styling

At Four Seasons Place, styling begins with a residence that is already finished.

We leave the built-ins and fixtures where they are and layer in furniture, lamps, rugs and art until the rooms read as yours rather than the tower’s.

Very few homes in Kuala Lumpur share a lift core with a hotel. Wilson Associates led the interiors here for the hotel, its serviced apartments and the private residences alike, aiming for rooms that felt residential rather than corporate. They largely succeeded, which leaves a particular problem: a residence that looks complete on the first morning yet holds nothing of you.

Below the residences sit the hotel floors and, at street level, six floors of The Shoppes at Four Seasons Place. Shops and restaurants are a lift ride away. Upstairs, the job is to make one set of rooms feel like the private part of that arrangement.

  • About 1,700 sq ftThree bedrooms, three bathrooms
  • About 2,450 sq ftThree bedrooms, three bathrooms
  • About 2,900 sq ftThree bedrooms, four bathrooms
  • Up to about 7,000 sq ftThe largest residences offered for sale

Drawn from residences EdgeProp reported on in 2025 and 2026, where listed homes start at about 1,300 sq ft. Plans vary by floor and stack, so we bring a tape.

Built-ins, glass and the furniture you inherit

NRY Architects say each residence was handed over fitted with built-ins, finishes and fixtures, inside floor-to-ceiling double-glazed walls. Among the homes EdgeProp has covered, one sold fully furnished and others semi-furnished, so the starting point differs from door to door.

We sort what we find into what is built in, what is borrowed and what is yours. Built-in joinery sets the palette, so a rug is chosen to sit with the existing veneer rather than fight it. Borrowed furniture is judged piece by piece. Your own things go where you’ll see them daily.

The glass is both the gift and the difficulty. A sofa pushed against it turns its back on the room, and art has nowhere to hang. We float seating a step away from the window, keep the backs low, give the one solid wall to a single large piece, and choose sheers that take the glare off late-afternoon sun.

02Styling a home

Styling a rented Four Seasons Place residence

If you rent here, everything loose is fair game: sofas, rugs, lamps, cushions, art.

Drilling and anything fitted wait for your landlord’s written consent, then for building management.

When the residence came furnished

Furnished lets in a tower like this tend to carry tasteful, neutral pieces bought to suit any tenant. We note what each room holds, then decide with you what earns its place. Often the landlord’s dining table stays, the cushions go into a cupboard, and three lamps and a rug do the rest.

Anything listed in your inventory is treated with care, so it goes back in the condition it arrived.

Hanging art without holes

Tenancy clauses here, as in most of KL, treat a nail as an alteration. Before anything goes up, check the clause and ask. Meanwhile, large canvases can lean on a low console against the one solid wall; smaller frames can sit on a slim ledge if your landlord agrees to two screws rather than twenty.

Freestanding lamps replace new ceiling points, and new curtains can hang from the track already there.

Landing from overseas

Many people moving here start planning from another time zone. Send the floor plan and a video tour; we can draw the rooms and shortlist the long-lead pieces, sofas and dining tables, before your flight. The bedroom is finished first so the first night is a good one.

Choosing pieces that outlast the lease

A residence in a hotel tower is often a chapter rather than the whole story. We pick rugs, lamps and art that will suit a house later, size the sofa so it isn’t stranded in a smaller room, and avoid made-to-measure pieces that only fit this plan.

Letting your own residence

Owners preparing a residence for a new tenant can refresh it through styling alone: built-ins untouched, loose furniture replaced or rearranged, the rooms photographed ready. If works are needed too, see the to-let note further down.

03How does styling work?

Styling at Four Seasons Place, from first call to install day

One stylist stays with your Four Seasons Place residence from the first conversation to the morning the last lamp is switched on.

We plan, you approve and buy, and we place it all once it lands.

The styling itself fills a week or two. New furniture is the slow part: four to twelve weeks for delivery, so the sofa and dining table are ordered before anything decorative.

Deliveries to a tower that is also a hotel are booked, not improvised. We confirm the service lift and the delivery window with management in advance, so the truck isn’t circling Jalan Ampang while guests check in.

  1. A conversation about your days No charge
Who lives here, how long you expect to stay, what arrives in the container and when you’d like the first night at home.
  2. A look round, tape in hand RM200, credited if you go ahead
Each room measured, the glass and the light through it noted, and the pieces already there marked keep, move or return.
  3. Our fee on paper, then the plan
We confirm the rooms and the styling fee in writing first. A placement plan and a shopping list per room follow, slowest deliveries first.
  4. Buying, as you prefer
You order from our shortlist, or our Procurement Concierge does it for you. Either way we track what has arrived.
  5. The day it comes together
Your stylist places the furniture, hangs the art, makes the beds and switches on the lamps.

Tenancy inventories, shipping dates and lift bookings pile up quickly in a building like this. Hand the list to us and ask what’s next whenever you like.

About interior styling How a project runs

04How much does styling cost?

What styling costs at Four Seasons Place

Styling a three-bedroom residence at Four Seasons Place is an estimated RM7,780–11,210.

Each room we style is RM1,715, the open living and dining together RM2,635, and the figure is written down before we start.

The lower number covers three bedrooms and the living and dining. The higher one adds two further rooms, perhaps a dressing room and a study made from the third bedroom. There are no complimentary rooms in styling, and a large room costs the same as a small one.

Styling estimate, Four Seasons Place
ResidenceWhat the lower figure stylesLowerPlus two rooms
3 bedrooms about 1,700–2,900 sq ftThree bedrooms with the living and diningRM7,780RM11,210

The sums: 3 × RM1,715 + RM2,635 = RM7,780; add two rooms at RM1,715 each and it reaches RM11,210. One- and two-bedroom residences, and the largest ones, are costed room by room after the visit.

October 2026 estimate, not a quotation. Furniture is a separate budget, bought from a shortlist pitched to it.

What you get for the fee

The first call, by video if you are still abroad. A visit to measure and to see what already lives in the rooms. For each room, a placement plan, the art hanging heights, and a list of lighting, textiles and objects to buy. Then a day on site when your stylist puts it all in place.

Our Procurement Concierge can take over the ordering, invoices and delivery bookings if you would rather not.

Interior styling

05Want more than styling?

Want more than styling at Four Seasons Place?

For many residences here, new furniture is enough.

For others, the finish is fine but the plan is wrong for the household.

A third bedroom that would serve better as a dressing room. A show kitchen that needs to become a working one. Joinery that holds a weekend bag but not a family’s year.

That is interior design: deciding what to keep from a finished residence, what to rework, and how far to go, whether that is one room or the whole plan.

Styling changes how the residence feels. Interior design changes the residence itself.

06What does interior design cover?

Interior design at Four Seasons Place, when the plan needs to change

Because Four Seasons Place residences were handed over finished, design work here is mostly refinement: storage that fits the household, lighting for real evenings, and one or two rooms rethought rather than a home stripped back.

If the furniture alone won’t do it, we’ll plan the next step with you.

That might be wardrobes reworked for clothes rather than suitcases, a study lit for long video calls, or a kitchen arranged around how you actually cook. Nothing has to happen at once; we can take it a room at a time.

What design work at Four Seasons Place tends to involve

  • KeepGlass, finishesThe double-glazed walls and the original finishes, where they are sound
  • AdaptBuilt-insNew fronts, lighting and internal fittings for the joinery already there
  • AddLight, storageWall lights, lamps and cabinetry placed around how each room is used
  • CheckServicesAir-conditioning, power points and the ceiling void, against your own plan

The handover schedule in your sale or tenancy papers lists what came with the residence; we compare it with the rooms.

Renovation rules at Four Seasons Place

The building’s renovation rules aren’t published anywhere we could find. Before quoting we request management’s current version, with its deposit, permitted hours and forms, and ask how contractors are scheduled in a tower that also runs a hotel. We have not yet designed a residence at Four Seasons Place; on the first call we take you through homes we have designed elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.

Permissions, before any work at Four Seasons Place

First your landlord’s written yes, if you rent. Next, building management’s written approval on its own terms. Last, any council permit the work calls for, which your chosen contractor obtains.

Relocating plumbing or removing a wall usually needs all three, so we raise it early. Styling that leaves the walls untouched needs none.

Design fees at Four Seasons Place

07How much does interior design cost?

What interior design costs at Four Seasons Place

Designing a three-bedroom Four Seasons Place residence is an estimated RM19,745–26,875 in our fee, set out in writing before we start.

That buys the design service; works and furniture are budgeted separately.

Each room we design
RM3,565
Living and dining
RM5,485

This is the fee for designing. Works and furniture are separate, shown below.

Our usual brief for a residence here counts three bedrooms and the kitchen at RM3,565 each and the open living and dining at RM5,485: 4 × RM3,565 + RM5,485 = RM19,745. Add two more rooms, such as a bathroom refitted and a study built in, and it is RM26,875.

Design clients get our Procurement Concierge included, and any room that only wants styling is styled at half price.

Our design fee, estimated

3 bedrooms and the kitchen: 4 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.

BespokeRM305,000 to RM639,000

Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.

What the two levels mean

Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.

Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.

Reading the design estimate

Our figure treats the kitchen as its own room. Where a Four Seasons Place kitchen opens straight onto the dining table, it folds into the living space instead and RM3,565 drops away; the visit settles which you have. You pay in stages against a figure we put in writing, and if you later choose a richer marble for the vanity, that change lands on the contractor’s bill rather than ours.

Put our fee beside the works and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) and a 1,701 sq ft three-bedroom residence comes to around RM165k–286k in all.

Curated means furniture from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke, from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Both columns are works and furniture only.

Figures as at October 2026, for planning rather than a quote.

Behind these numbers

We have priced each residence as the finished home it was handed over as, keeping the floors it has today. The lower figure leaves the bathrooms alone; tick the ones you’d change in the calculator and it adds them.

Wardrobes, kitchen joinery, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer, hob and hood are all inside each range. Anything the residence already has that you’d rather keep comes out again. Vanities are left outside.

Preparing a residence to let?

Between tenants, styling alone often does it at Four Seasons Place. Where the residence needs works as well, our Essential level, with Ikea, SSF Home and Harvey Norman furniture, is quicker to install and tougher under changing tenancies. The design fee doesn’t move with the level.

FAQ

Questions about styling and design at Four Seasons Place

How do you style a Four Seasons Place residence that came furnished?

By editing before adding. The built-ins and finishes stay; each loose piece is marked keep, move or return; then we fill the gaps, usually with lamps, a rug and your own art, so the residence stops looking like a hotel suite.

Can I change a rented Four Seasons Place residence without my landlord’s permission?

Loose things, yes: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains on the existing track, art leaning on a console. Drilling or fitting anything needs the landlord’s written consent and then management’s approval. We go through the alterations clause with you first.

What does styling a Four Seasons Place residence cost?

About RM7,780–11,210 for a three-bedroom residence: RM1,715 a room for the three bedrooms plus RM2,635 for the open living and dining, rising when two more rooms are added. It is confirmed in writing before we start; furniture is bought on top.

What is included when you style a residence at Four Seasons Place?

A call, a measuring visit, a placement plan and shopping list for each room, and an on-site day when everything is arranged. It can be a single bedroom or every room. You buy the pieces, or our Procurement Concierge handles it.

How quickly can a Four Seasons Place residence be styled?

Placing everything takes one to two weeks once it has arrived; new furniture adds four to twelve weeks of delivery. If you are relocating, we can plan by video from the floor plan before you land.

Will the furniture move with me when I leave Four Seasons Place?

Loose pieces will. We choose rugs, lamps, art and the larger items to work in a different home later and keep anything made to measure to a minimum; fitted joinery stays.

How large are the residences at Four Seasons Place?

Residences reported by EdgeProp range from about 1,700 sq ft with three bedrooms and three bathrooms to about 2,900 sq ft with three bedrooms and four, and listings run from about 1,300 to about 7,000 sq ft. The 242 private residences occupy floors 22 to 65.

Styling or interior design: which does my Four Seasons Place residence need?

Styling, if the plan works and the rooms simply aren’t yours yet. Interior design, if you want to change the residence itself, say the wardrobes, the kitchen or a bathroom. Many people start with styling and design later, one room at a time.

What does interior design cost at Four Seasons Place?

Our design fee for a three-bedroom residence is an estimated RM19,745–26,875, set in writing before work begins. It covers the bedrooms, kitchen and living and dining, plus two extra rooms at the top of the range. Works and furniture are separate, roughly RM146k–266k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for a 1,701 sq ft residence.

Are there renovation rules at Four Seasons Place?

Yes, set by building management, though we couldn’t find them published. We ask for the current rules, deposit, hours and forms before quoting, along with how contractors are booked into a tower shared with a hotel. Renters need the landlord’s written consent first.

Which services do you offer at Four Seasons Place?

Styling for rented and owned residences, room by room, and interior design for kitchens, bathrooms and joinery when a longer stay calls for it. We draw, compare contractors’ quotes with you and oversee the work; contractors build. Styling and our Procurement Concierge stand alone too, and Virtual Design covers homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
