Interior designer at Almaspuri Mont Kiara
Almaspuri’s corner homes, furnished slowly around the light.
With windows on two sides, an Almaspuri home already has the light. We bring the rest: furniture, lamps, rugs and art arranged around how you live, whether the flat came empty or full of someone else’s things. Pieces that leave with you when you move on, and no renovation unless you want one.

A round table under a low pendant, olive cabinets behind. When the light comes from two sides, the dining table can sit where the afternoon falls.

Making Almaspuri Mont Kiara feel like home: corner-unit layouts
Every Almaspuri Mont Kiara home is a corner unit of about 1,545 to 1,604 sq ft, with three bedrooms and a +1 or four bedrooms, and three bathrooms.
Styling one starts with the windows: where the light falls, and where furniture shouldn’t block it.
Almaspuri is small for Mont Kiara: 132 homes in two towers by BT Homestead Group, the developer behind Angkupuri and Anggun Puri. With only four homes on each floor, StarProperty notes that every one is a corner unit with views across 180 degrees, and calls the design classical, quieter than the newer towers that have grown up around it.
- About 1,545 sq ftThree bedrooms plus one, three bathrooms
- About 1,604 sq ftFour bedrooms, three bathrooms
- 3,500–4,300 sq ftPenthouses, four bedrooms
Layouts from MyRumahBaru’s Almaspuri listing; StarProperty gives 1,545 sq ft for the standard homes and 3,500 sq ft for a penthouse. We measure yours on the visit.
Two walls of windows, and the +1 room
Corner homes have more glass and less wall, and that changes the plan. The sofa may need to float rather than back onto a wall, art goes where the windows stop, and curtains, lined against the afternoon sun, become one of the larger purchases in the room.
The +1 room in the three-bedroom plan is worth thinking about. Depending on its size and window, it can be a study, a dressing room, a room for a helper or simply storage, so the bedrooms stay calm.
Three bathrooms make guests easy. We dress the one they will use with the same care as their bedroom: good towels, a soft light by the mirror, somewhere to put a bag down.
Styling a rented Almaspuri Mont Kiara home: what you can change
On an Almaspuri Mont Kiara tenancy, anything you can carry in is yours to change: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains on the rails already up.
Holes in walls, new wiring and built-in pieces need the owner’s written consent and then management’s.
If it came with furniture
We go round the flat together and agree what works with the light and what doesn’t. A set of dark dining chairs in front of a bright corner window can feel heavy; swapped for something lighter, the same room opens up. The rest we keep, regroup or return.
Curtains in a corner home
In a corner home, curtains do much of the work. Where the rails are already up, new curtains need nobody’s permission: a sheer layer for the day, a lined one for the evening and the sunny side. Where there are only blinds, we ask the owner before adding rails.
Arriving with a shipment
If your own furniture is on a ship, we plan around it: measure on the visit, mark which pieces fit where, and buy only what fills the gaps. The bedrooms come first, so you sleep well while the rest arrives.
Choosing for the next home
A posting rarely ends in a home of the same shape, so we buy with the next move in mind: sofas in sections that split, tables that extend, rugs that would suit a smaller room too.
Letting an Almaspuri home
Owners preparing to let can keep the joinery, update the loose furniture and give the +1 room a clear use, so a viewing makes sense at a glance. If works are needed too, see Furnishing to let below.
How styling works at Almaspuri Mont Kiara, call to install day
An Almaspuri Mont Kiara styling job is led by one stylist from start to finish.
We plan the rooms around the light, you buy from our lists, and we set out every room once the deliveries are complete.
Made-to-order pieces typically take four to twelve weeks, and the styling a week or two after that. Curtains go on the order first, because in a corner home a room isn’t finished without them.
Almaspuri is a small building, so we agree delivery times with management early and group them into as few days as we can.
- First call FreeYour household, the moving date, what came with the flat and what is coming with you.
- A visit to 18 Jalan Kiara RM200, credited if you go aheadWe measure, map the windows and the sun, and sort the existing furniture into keep, move and return.
- Scope, fee and plansRooms and fee agreed in writing, then a layout per room and a buying list, curtains and slow pieces first.
- Orders and deliveriesYou buy from the lists in your own time; we group deliveries so the lift is booked on as few days as possible.
- Setting it outYour stylist arranges the furniture, hangs the curtains and art, makes the beds and sets the lamps.
Big windows, a shipment and a landlord’s inventory: we keep them in step, and you can ask how it is going whenever you like.

What styling includes
A call to understand the household. A visit to measure and to note what you already own. A plan for each room, with furniture positions, a lighting scheme and a list of textiles, art and accessories. Then an install day, when the deliveries are in and your stylist sets every room.
Want more than styling at Almaspuri Mont Kiara?
Many Almaspuri Mont Kiara homes need nothing more than furniture and light.
In others, the bathrooms or the kitchen are where the years show.
Three bathrooms means three sets of tiles, taps and vanities, and they rarely age at the same pace. Add a kitchen that wants more worktop, and it becomes a design job.
We help you put them in order: what to do now, what can wait, and what is fine as it is.
Styling makes the most of the home as it stands. Interior design reshapes the parts of it that no longer work.
Interior design at Almaspuri Mont Kiara, planned for the long run
Almaspuri Mont Kiara’s corner homes have light and a sensible room count, so a renovation rarely needs new walls.
It usually renews three bathrooms and a kitchen, and puts the +1 room to proper use.
The work can be staged, bathrooms first and the kitchen later, or done all at once while the home is empty between tenancies.

Renovation rules at Almaspuri Mont Kiara
StarProperty describes Almaspuri as managed by its developer’s group, and notes it was repainted in 2007 without a special levy on owners. Works inside a home need management’s approval. The rules are not published, so we ask for the current copy, with deposit, hours and forms, before any contractor is invited to price.
We haven’t designed an Almaspuri home yet; on the first call we show you homes we have designed in other parts of Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at Almaspuri Mont Kiara
For tenants, the owner’s consent comes first, on paper. Management then approves the works, and a larger or structural job may need a council permit, which the contractor obtains.
Anything that moves a wet area or a wall is likely to need all three, and we say so on the visit. Styling, which leaves the walls alone, needs none of them.
What interior design costs at Almaspuri Mont Kiara
The design fee for an Almaspuri Mont Kiara three-bedroom plus one is an estimated RM19,745–26,875; for four bedrooms, RM23,310–30,440.
It is our fee for the design, agreed in writing, and sits apart from the renovation and furniture budgets.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
Our fee covers the design itself. The renovation and the furniture are budgeted on their own, below.
A bedroom or the kitchen is RM3,565 to design, the living and dining RM5,485. Three bedrooms and the kitchen come to RM19,745; four bedrooms and the kitchen, RM23,310. Two more rooms, perhaps the +1 and one bathroom, take them to RM26,875 and RM30,440.
With interior design, rooms that only need styling are styled at half rate.
3 bedrooms and the kitchen: 4 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
How the fee works
Our figure treats the kitchen as a closed room. If yours has been opened up to the dining, it becomes part of the living and dining and the fee is RM3,565 less; we confirm it on the visit. Payment is in stages, and the finishes you choose change the contractor’s quote, not our fee.
For a 1,545 sq ft 3+1, our fee plus works and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) is roughly RM214k–356k.
| Home | Our fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Three bedrooms plus one about 1,545 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM194k–336k | RM383k–752k |
| Four bedrooms about 1,604 sq ft | RM23,310–30,440 | RM220k–379k | RM430k–841k |
Curated means furniture from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke, from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Neither includes our fee.
Estimates from October 2026.
How we reached these numbers
We priced both plans as older homes with new floors, and left the three bathrooms out of the lower figure; the calculator adds them.
Allowances include wardrobes, the kitchen, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer and the hob and hood, less what you keep. Vanities are priced on top.

Letting your Almaspuri home? If it just needs furnishing, styling does it. If the bathrooms or kitchen need work too, Essential, furnished from Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman, goes in quickly and takes the wear of changing tenants; our fee stays the same at any level.
