Our interior design starts with what has aged and what each room now needs to do.
If your Vipod home has been lived in since 2013, it has probably outlasted its kitchen hob and its first sofa. We’re a small design studio, Sundays in Bed, and we’d be new to Vipod. Every fee we charge is set per room and confirmed in writing at the outset.
Monoland Corp, a Penang-based developer, completed Vipod Residences, also known as Vipod Suites, in 2013 on freehold land on Jalan Kia Peng. EdgeProp counts 418 serviced apartments, and StarProperty describes one-bedroom homes of 653 sq ft and 2+1 homes of over 1,000 sq ft.

What came with the keys in 2013
StarProperty lists a kitchen cabinet, a water heater, a hob, a hood and a microwave oven among the items handed over. After thirteen years, the hob and the water heater are often the first to go, and cabinet doors and hinges the next.
We check each one on the visit before deciding whether the kitchen needs new doors, a new worktop or a new layout. Often new doors and a new worktop on the old carcasses are enough.
Living compactly at Vipod
In a 653 sq ft one-bedroom, every piece of furniture has to earn its floor space. We take storage up to the ceiling, choose a dining table that can also be a desk, and keep the floor between the sofa and the window clear, so the room still reads as one calm space.

In a Vipod home, the work is mostly renewal: kitchens, bathrooms, floors and storage from 2013, re-planned for the way you live now.
If the kitchen is original
A 2013 kitchen usually has sound carcasses and tired fronts. New doors, a new worktop and a new hob and hood can renew it in days rather than weeks, and we only redraw the layout if it no longer suits how you cook.
If the bathrooms show their age
Retiling a bathroom here means checking the waterproofing beneath before the first new tile goes on, and agreeing working hours with management. Where the tiles are sound, a new vanity, mirror cabinet and lighting can do much of the work.
If the home came furnished
If your home came with someone else’s furniture, we sort what stays, what goes and what can be reupholstered before buying anything new. A good frame with new fabric often outlasts a new sofa.
If you work from home
Vipod has a business meeting room, so the second bedroom needn’t become a full office. A desk wall with closed storage lets it be a study by day and a guest room by night.
What interior design costs at Vipod Residences
At Vipod Residences, the Sundays in Bed design fee is an estimated RM19,745–26,875 for the 1,350 sq ft three-bedroom and RM9,050–12,615 for a 653 sq ft one-bedroom.
That is our charge for the rooms you choose, in a letter you approve first.

For Vipod we price the rooms you want changed. In the three-bedroom, that’s the bedrooms, a closed kitchen and the living and dining together; if the kitchen is open to the dining room, it merges into that charge and RM3,565 comes off. In the one-bedroom, the bedroom is one room and the kitchen already sits in the living area.
We leave bathrooms out of the lower figure. Thirteen years in, one or both usually need redoing, so the upper figure allows for them.
Priced for Vipod: 3 bedrooms and the kitchen, so 4 rooms at RM3,565 apiece, plus RM5,485 for living and dining. Foyer and utility corner are included free.
Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
How a Vipod fee is paid
We agree one number up front and invoice it in stages. If the new worktop ends up in a costlier stone, the contractor’s price changes and ours doesn’t. About our fees
Add Curated furniture from Commune, Cellini or Poet Living, and the 1,350 sq ft Vipod three-bedroom totals approximately RM214k–363k including our fee.

Bedrooms, kitchen, living and dining make up the lower Vipod figure. The upper one adds two rooms in the three-bedroom, likely both bathrooms, and one in the one-bedroom, its bathroom.
We estimated both Vipod finish levels in October 2026; contractors’ quotes will decide the real cost.
Why the Vipod ranges include new floors
A 2013 building means new flooring is priced in, together with wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry and air-conditioning. Whatever is still sound and staying is deducted, so keeping your floors lowers the figure.

Management’s rules first
A 2013 home is long past its defect period, so the first step is management’s written consent. Vipod’s renovation rules don’t appear to be published, so we ask management for the current version, with the deposit and permitted hours, before builders quote.
Moving plumbing, or anything structural, needs written approval from management and the local authority, so we raise it at our first meeting. Hidden pipes and wiring in a thirteen-year-old home are checked before the drawings are final, not after the walls are open.
Renovating at Vipod Residences, and making a compact home work harder
At Vipod Residences, the storage by the door, the kitchen run and the second bedroom are where a renovation earns its keep.
We help you decide which to change first.
A renewal doesn’t have to happen all at once. We often start where the home is used hardest, the kitchen and the main bathroom, and leave the bedrooms for a second round, so you live with the changes before deciding on the next.
Vipod’s roof carries a lot of everyday life. EdgeProp and StarProperty list a rooftop sky club, a sky pool with an infinity lap pool, a gym, a sky lounge, a garden terrace, meeting rooms and concierge service. With those to hand, a bedroom needn’t give itself to a treadmill.
