Interior designer at Suria Stonor
Room to spread out at Suria Stonor, and every room feeling yours.
Even a full container can look sparse in a Suria Stonor home. We furnish to the size of the rooms: sofas, tables, lamps, rugs and art in the right proportion, picked for the way your household lives and easy to take along to the next address. Nothing to hack or rebuild. Just space that feels lived in.

Making Suria Stonor feel like home: floor plans and styling
Suria Stonor homes are styled from the shell you already have: we keep the built-in joinery, add furniture, lighting, rugs and art at the right scale, and touch nothing structural.
The plans below give a sense of how much floor there is to work with.
City-centre flats usually ask you to shrink your life to fit. Here it runs the other way. With four homes on each floor and the smallest close to 3,000 sq ft, the first task after the movers leave is giving every room enough to hold together.
Glomac launched the project in 2005 on Jalan Stonor, an enclave StarProperty describes as low-rise bungalows, colonial bungalows and embassies, and completed it in 2008 around a “Garden in the Sky” theme. Roughly three quarters of its 138 homes sit on a single level; duplexes and penthouses take the upper floors.
- 3,046–3,311 sq ftSingle-level homes, two layouts with three variants each
- 3,264 sq ftThe 4+1, adding an AV room with its own bathroom and a study
- 5,447 sq ftDuplexes, 28 in all, with separate living, dining and family areas
- Up to 8,604 sq ftEight penthouses, served by a private lift
From StarProperty’s review of the development; plans vary between units, so we take our own measurements.
Scale, light and the AV room
A large room is harder to dress than a small one. The sofa that filled your last lounge can drift in the middle of a Suria Stonor living area, and a single rug leaves the dining set marooned. So we plan in zones: a seating group pinned by a rug wide enough for every chair, a table sized to the room rather than the guest list, and light at three heights so the far corners stay warm after dark.
Every unit has big glass windows, and StarProperty describes the 4+1’s main bedroom with a dressing area and a bathroom with a Jacuzzi. Built-ins stay and we design around them; borrowed or inherited pieces get sorted into keep, relocate or return; your own things go where they will be seen.
If you have the 4+1, settle the AV room early. With its own bathroom it can be a den, a guest suite or a quiet office, and each choice needs different furniture.
Styling a rented Suria Stonor home
As a tenant at Suria Stonor, the loose things are yours to change: seating, tables, rugs, lamps, curtains and pictures.
Drilling, hacking or anything fitted needs written consent from the landlord, then the building management’s sign-off.
When the landlord’s furniture is already in
In homes this size the problem is usually too little furniture rather than too much. We go through the rooms with the inventory, decide which spaces already work, and plan only for the gaps.
A wider rug, a second reading lamp and pictures rehung at eye level often settle a room that a new sofa never would.
Reading the alterations clause
Most agreements let you move and replace loose pieces freely. Hooks, rods and shelving leave holes, so they usually need the owner’s agreement; joinery, wiring and plumbing need it on paper, plus management approval.
Where the answer is no, a long console with leaning art, a folding screen to make a corner of a big room feel enclosed, and standing lamps instead of new ceiling points all leave the walls untouched.
Planning around the shipment
Give us the arrival date on the first call. Large sofas and a ten-seat table go on order first, the bedrooms are finished before the living areas, and nobody spends a fortnight sleeping among boxes.
If your container is still at sea, the measuring and drawing happen before it docks, with space reserved for what is coming.
Buying for the next address
Big rooms tempt you to buy big. We lean towards pairs that can split later: two compact sofas rather than one long one, matching rugs, lamps and art that will also suit a smaller flat. Made-to-measure pieces are kept to a minimum.
Between one tenancy and the next
Owners letting a Suria Stonor unit can use styling to refresh it with no works at all: kitchens and wardrobes kept, tired loose pieces swapped, every room finished. The Furnishing to let note lower down deals with units that need renovation too.
Styling at Suria Stonor, from first call to install day
One stylist stays with your Suria Stonor home throughout.
We draw up the rooms, you approve the purchases, and once the deliveries are in we put it all together.
The styling days themselves take one to two weeks, and a whole home of this size tends to use the full fortnight. New furniture usually needs four to twelve weeks to arrive, so the slow items are ordered first.
Bulky pieces need the lift and a loading slot. We check both with management before a sofa or table is scheduled, so van and lift line up on the same morning.
- Talking about your household FreeWho lives here, what the shipment holds, what the landlord left, and when you want the first night in.
- Measuring every room RM200, deducted if you go ahead with usFloor dimensions, window widths, the AV room or study, and an inventory of what stays and what goes.
- Agreeing the rooms and drawing the planOur fee is set out in writing, room by room, first. Then you get a layout for each space and a shortlist of furniture, light and art, slow items first.
- OrderingBuy from the shortlist yourself or let our Procurement Concierge handle orders and deliveries; either way we track what has landed.
- Putting it togetherWith everything on site, your stylist arranges furniture, hangs pictures, sets the lamps and dresses the beds.
A big home has a lot of moving parts: an inventory, a container, two kitchens, a family arriving. Hand us the list and check in whenever you like.
What styling costs at Suria Stonor
Styling a Suria Stonor 3+1 is an estimated RM7,780–11,210, and a 4+1 RM9,495–12,925.
We charge RM1,715 a room and RM2,635 for the open-plan living and dining, confirmed in writing before work starts.
The smaller number covers the bedrooms plus the living and dining. The larger adds two rooms, such as the AV room set up as a den and the study. No room is styled free, and a room’s size has no effect on its fee, which is why a home this large costs no more per room than a compact one.
| Home | Lower figure covers | Lower figure | With more rooms |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3+1 3,046–3,311 sq ft | Three bedrooms, living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
| 4+1 3,264 sq ft | Four bedrooms, living and dining | RM9,495 | RM12,925 |
The sums: 3 × RM1,715 + RM2,635 = RM7,780, plus two rooms makes RM11,210. With four bedrooms, 4 × RM1,715 + RM2,635 = RM9,495, or RM12,925 with two more. Duplexes and penthouses are counted room by room after we visit.
Estimates as at October 2026, not a quote. Furniture and accessories are paid for separately, from a shortlist pitched at your budget.
What the fee buys
An initial conversation, by video or in person, using your photos and plan. A measuring visit where we note what you own and reuse it first. A room-by-room layout and buying list covering furniture, art hanging, lighting, textiles and the finishing objects. Then a styling day in person once the deliveries are in.
Rather not deal with suppliers? Our Procurement Concierge places the orders, keeps the paperwork and books the deliveries.
Want more than styling at Suria Stonor?
For many Suria Stonor homes, new furniture is enough.
For others, the living room is fine but two eighteen-year-old kitchens are not.
Wardrobe doors that stick, a wet kitchen too narrow to share, bathrooms finished in another era: these are the things furniture can’t fix, and where interior design starts.
We help you decide what to keep, what to replace and what deserves doing well, whether that is one bathroom or the whole floor plan.
Styling changes how the home feels. Interior design changes the home itself.
Interior design at Suria Stonor, when home needs a little more
Suria Stonor gives you floor area most new towers can’t, and in the 4+1 an AV room with its own bathroom and a study.
After eighteen years, though, many original kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes are due a rethink.
When furniture alone won’t do, we plan the next step with you.
That might be a wet kitchen with room for two cooks, wardrobes that run to the ceiling, or bathrooms that feel like part of the same home. It needn’t happen at once; we can phase it room by room, starting with whatever bothers you most.
What a Suria Stonor renovation usually covers
- KeepSpace, lightThe floor area and the large windows, which no renovation could add
- AdaptWardrobesSound carcasses can take new doors, lighting and inner fittings
- RenewKitchens, bathsStarProperty calls the 3+1’s wet kitchen quite narrow; often the first room to redo
- CheckCeilings, planNo ceiling heights are published, so we measure and study your own drawings
Your purchase or tenancy papers list what came with the unit; we compare them with the rooms when we visit.
Renovation rules at Suria Stonor
Works are approved by the building’s management. We found no published rulebook, so before quoting we request the current one, with its deposit, permitted hours and forms. With only 138 households and four to a floor, the people next door will hear the drilling, so we plan noisy days with care.
We haven’t yet designed a home in Suria Stonor; on the first call we can talk you through Kuala Lumpur homes we have designed.
Before any works at Suria Stonor
Approvals come in a set order. Tenants first need the owner’s written consent; then management signs off under its own rules; and where the job calls for one, the contractor applies for the authorities’ permit.
Relocating plumbing, removing walls or touching structure is most likely to need all three, so we raise it at the first meeting. Styling that leaves the walls alone needs none.
What interior design costs at Suria Stonor
Our design fee for a Suria Stonor 3+1 is an estimated RM23,310–30,440; for a 4+1, RM26,875–34,005.
It covers the design work only, is set in writing up front, and sits apart from your renovation and furniture budget.
- Each room we design
- RM3,565
- Living and dining
- RM5,485
This is the design fee alone. Renovation and furniture are budgeted separately below.
A typical Suria Stonor brief counts each bedroom and both kitchens, dry and wet, at RM3,565, and the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. So a 3+1 is 5 × RM3,565 + RM5,485 = RM23,310, and a 4+1 is 6 × RM3,565 + RM5,485 = RM26,875. Add two rooms, perhaps a bathroom and the study, for RM30,440 and RM34,005.
A design commission comes with our Procurement Concierge, and rooms that only want styling are styled at half rate.
3 bedrooms and the dry and wet kitchens: 5 rooms at RM3,565, with the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. Foyer, yard and service areas are designed at no charge.
In each level, the lower number is the essentials; the higher one allows for extras like a feature wall, LED strips or an island.
What the two levels mean
Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.
Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.
How the fee works
Both kitchens are counted, since StarProperty’s description of the 3+1 has a separate wet kitchen. If your unit has a single kitchen, take RM3,565 off; we check on the visit. The fee is paid in stages and stays as agreed even if you upgrade a worktop, which only changes the contractor’s price.
Fee plus renovation and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to about RM242k–439k for a 3,046 sq ft 3+1.
| Home | Our fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3+1 3,046–3,311 sq ft | RM23,310–30,440 | RM219k–416k | RM423k–904k |
| 4+1 3,264 sq ft | RM26,875–34,005 | RM245k–470k | RM470k–1,012k |
Curated means furniture from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Both columns exclude our fee.
Estimates as at October 2026, not a quote.
Behind the renovation figures
Priced as an older home with new flooring. The lower figure redoes no bathrooms; add any you would change in the calculator. Duplexes and penthouses are costed on site.
Included: wardrobes, kitchen cabinets, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer, hob and hood. Keep any you already have and they drop out. Vanities are excluded.
Furnishing to let?
Preparing a Suria Stonor unit for new tenants? Furniture alone may do it, which is styling. Where works are needed as well, our Essential level, furnished from Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman, is quicker to install and stands up to turnover. The design fee is the same at every level.
Essential renovation and furniture, our fee excluded
- 3+1
- RM123k–209k
- 4+1

FAQ
Styling and interior design questions at Suria Stonor
How do you style a large Suria Stonor home without it feeling empty?
By zoning, not by filling walls. A seating group sits on a rug wide enough for every chair, the dining table is sized to the room, and lamps at different heights light each corner. We start from what you already own and buy only for the gaps.
Can I style a rented Suria Stonor home without the landlord’s permission?
For loose items, yes: seating, rugs, lamps, curtains on existing tracks, and art propped on a console or ledge. Drilling, hacking or fitted joinery at Suria Stonor needs the owner’s written consent and then management’s approval. We go through your tenancy clause with you first.
How much does interior styling cost at Suria Stonor?
Around RM7,780–11,210 for a 3+1 and RM9,495–12,925 for a 4+1. That is RM1,715 per bedroom plus RM2,635 for the open-plan living and dining, with the higher figure adding two rooms such as the AV room and study. Furniture is extra, and duplexes and penthouses are priced per room.
What does interior styling include at Suria Stonor?
An initial call, a measuring visit, a layout and buying list for each room you choose, and an in-person styling day once deliveries arrive. It can be a single bedroom or the whole unit. You buy the pieces, or our Procurement Concierge does.
How long does it take to style a Suria Stonor home?
On site, one to two weeks after the deliveries are in; a whole Suria Stonor unit usually needs both weeks. Ordering new furniture adds four to twelve weeks, so slow items go first. We can start over video before you land.
Can the furniture from a Suria Stonor home come with me when I move?
Anything loose can. Because the rooms are big, we favour pairs and sets that can separate, such as two compact sofas, so they still work in a smaller next home. Fitted joinery stays behind.
What are the floor plans at Suria Stonor?
The 138 units start at about 3,046 sq ft. Around three quarters are single-level, from 3,046 to 3,311 sq ft, including a 3,264 sq ft 4+1 with an AV room, its own bathroom and a study. There are 28 duplexes of 5,447 sq ft and eight penthouses up to 8,604 sq ft.
Do I need interior design or styling for my Suria Stonor home?
Choose styling if the layout works and you simply want it to feel personal. Choose interior design if the kitchens, a bathroom or the wardrobes need changing. Many people style first and redesign later, one room at a time.
How much does interior design cost at Suria Stonor?
Our design fee is around RM23,310–30,440 for a 3+1 and RM26,875–34,005 for a 4+1, set in writing first. It counts the bedrooms, the dry and wet kitchens and the living and dining, with two extra rooms in the upper figure. Renovation and furniture are separate: about RM219k–416k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for a 3,046 sq ft 3+1.
Does Suria Stonor have renovation rules?
Yes. Works go through Suria Stonor’s management, though we found no published rules. We ask for the current version, with deposit, hours and forms, before quoting. Tenants need the owner’s written consent first.
What interior design services do you offer at Suria Stonor?
Room-by-room styling for tenants and owners, and full design of kitchens, bathrooms and joinery for longer stays. We produce the drawings, compare contractor quotes with you and oversee the site, while contractors build. Styling and the Procurement Concierge can be booked alone, and Virtual Design serves homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
