Interior design at Sunway Flora Residences in Bukit Jalil starts from a near-bare handover, where every home has a dry kitchen and a separate wet kitchen.
We plan every cabinet and wardrobe once.
The first evening in a new Flora home can feel oddly quiet: clean floors, a digital lock on the door, and nowhere yet to hang a shirt. It’s a good place to start: the kitchens, wardrobes and lighting can be drawn as one plan, with nothing bought in a hurry.
We’re Sundays in Bed, a Kuala Lumpur studio that designs and looks after homes. Every room is priced on its own, in a written agreement first, and our Bukit Jalil page covers the rest of the neighbourhood.
Sunway Flora Residences is Sunway Property’s freehold pair of towers on Jalan Tiara, in Taman Mutiara Bukit Jalil, with a 700 m covered walkway to LRT Muhibbah. Both towers were completed in 2026.

Sunway Flora Residences homes measure 1,055 to 1,507 sq ft built-up, with a 2,562 sq ft penthouse at the top, and each has at least three bedrooms.

Kitchens
Each floor holds ten homes in two rows around one core. One row looks towards Kuala Lumpur, the other towards Kinrara, and your side changes the light in every room. We’ll look at yours together on the visit.
Then there’s the handover. Sunway’s specification lists points for the air-conditioners, water heaters, hob and hood, one kitchen sink, and laminated floors in the bedrooms. Unless your sale package added more, the kitchens, wardrobes and cooling are yours to plan, and we’ll plan them with you.
So a three-bedroom here may need two kitchens, three wardrobes and four air-conditioners before it feels finished. If you’ve just collected your keys, that’s a lot to decide at once, and we’ll help you with the order.
Sunway Flora Residences layouts: who cooks, and who sleeps where
In a Sunway Flora home, we start with who cooks where and who each bedroom is for.
In a handover this bare, those two answers shape most of the work.
If the wok gets used daily
Every Flora layout pairs a dry kitchen beside the dining with a wet kitchen out in the yard, behind a glass door. Settle where the wok lives first: the hood, worktops and cabinets all follow from it.
If grandparents, a helper or a study need the fourth bedroom
The 1,206 sq ft B1 plan puts its fourth room right by the dry kitchen. Whether it becomes a study, a guest room, a parent’s room or a helper’s, its job decides the wardrobe, the lighting and where the desk goes.
If a parent or grown-up child will stay
The 1,507 sq ft corner homes give one bedroom its own bathroom, which Sunway calls a junior suite. We’ll treat it as a retreat: a reading chair, a proper wardrobe, a bathroom nobody shares.
If you eat away from the windows
In the 1,055 sq ft three-bedroom, the dining sits inside the plan, between the living room and the dry kitchen, away from the windows. A dimmable pendant and a pale wall will do more there than a chandelier.
If you’re glad of what arrives new
The tiled living areas, the laminated bedroom floors and the digital lock on the front door all arrive new. We keep them, and spend instead on the cabinets, wardrobes and lighting the handover leaves to you.
At Sunway Flora, the design fee is counted room by room
At Sunway Flora Residences, the Sundays in Bed design fee is estimated at RM23,310–26,875 for the 1,055 sq ft three-bedroom and RM26,875–34,005 for the 1,206 sq ft four-bedroom.
It is a fee per room, agreed in writing before we begin.

In a home handed over this bare, the money goes on joinery before furniture: both kitchens, and a wardrobe for every bedroom, come before any sofa. Our fee is counted the same way, room by room.
Each bedroom or kitchen we design is RM3,565, and the living and dining together RM5,485, so the dry and wet kitchens count as two rooms. A wet kitchen you leave plain drops off the total, like a bedroom you don’t need drawn.
Add our fee to Curated finishes, with furniture from Commune, Cellini or Poet Living, and a Flora three-bedroom comes to about RM184k–319k.

How the fee works
Our letter of agreement holds the total before the first line is drawn, and you pay it in stages. A sintered-stone top for the dry kitchen changes the fabricator’s bill and leaves our fee as it was. How our fees work

The lower figure covers what every Flora plan has to have drawn: the living and dining, both kitchens and each bedroom. The upper one allows a room more, perhaps the master bathroom, or two more in homes of 1,206 sq ft and up.
Prices are October 2026 guides, never a quotation: that comes from your contractors.
How these figures are worked out
Flora keys arrived in 2026, so every bathroom is counted as kept, new from Sunway; tick one in if you’d still redo it.
Since Sunway leaves points where buyers might expect fittings, each range already carries what a bare Flora unit lacks: cabinets for the dry and wet kitchens, hob, hood, wardrobes, air-conditioners and heaters. Anything your sale package supplied comes off.

Sunway’s Rent+ scheme courts tenants here too. If you’ll let the home, a hard-wearing fit-out at our Essential level is quicker to fit and easier to keep ready between tenants, with furniture from Ikea, SSF Home and Harvey Norman. Our design fee stays the same at every level.

Defects, before the carpentry
Your sale agreement sets the defect liability period, counted from vacant possession. Put every defect to Sunway Flora Sdn Bhd in writing, with photos, and have it put right before carpentry covers a wall or a floor.
DBKL approved Sunway Flora’s building plans and issues any permit, usually through your licensed contractor. Management signs off the works too; its deposit, hours and lift booking aren’t public yet, so we get the current rules in writing first.

Moving into a new Sunway Flora home
Which of the two Sunway Flora kitchens should do the heavy cooking?
Usually the wet kitchen out in the yard, behind its glass door, under a powerful hood. The dry kitchen next to the dining is left for coffee, breakfast and plating up. Light cooks can manage with one, turning the yard over to laundry and storage.
Does a Sunway Flora home come with wardrobes and air-conditioners?
Not by Sunway’s published specification, which lists air-conditioner and water-heater points, a hob and hood point and one kitchen sink. Some buyers’ packages added fittings, so we list what yours has on the site visit, before any figure is set.
What can the fourth bedroom in a 1,206 sq ft Flora home become?
Beside the dry kitchen, it suits a study, a guest room or a helper’s room. A study wants power and data at desk height; a guest room, a wardrobe and a sofa bed. Drawn by us, it adds RM3,565 to the fee.
Can the junior suite in the 1,507 sq ft homes suit an elderly parent?
Often. It has its own bathroom, and Sunway designed the towers for elderly and wheelchair access. Inside, that means a shower without a kerb, rails that look like towel bars, lever taps and a low glow along the route to the bathroom at night.
What might it cost to fit out and furnish a 1,206 sq ft Flora four-bedroom?
For the B1, renovation and furniture are estimated at RM181k–327k at Curated (Commune, Cellini or Poet Living) or RM367k–758k at Bespoke (Space Furniture, BoConcept or Molteni&C), our fee aside. Both kitchens and four wardrobes are in that; contractors’ quotes settle it.
When should a new Flora owner begin the design?
Once the keys are in hand. Send Sunway your defect list, then book the site visit: drawings and quotes take a few weeks, and with Towers A and B fitting out together, an early design wins earlier contractor and lift dates.
How much does it cost to hire an interior designer for a Sunway Flora home?
An estimated RM23,310–26,875 for the 1,055 sq ft three-bedroom, and RM26,875–34,005 for the four-bedrooms and the penthouse, agreed in writing before we begin.
