Marble laid and kitchen fitted at Le Nouvel KLCC. The rest is yours.

Ateliers Jean Nouvel gave these homes white marble, full-height glass and fitted Poggenpohl kitchens. What they can’t come with is your life in them: the chair you read in, the rug that softens the stone, the art you carried from the last home. That part is styling, and it needs no works at all.

01Making it feel like home

Making Le Nouvel KLCC feel like home: floor plans and styling

Le Nouvel KLCC homes arrive more complete than most, so styling here means choosing furniture, lighting and art that sit well with an architect’s finishes rather than covering for them.

The floor plans set the scale.

The two slim towers on Jalan Ampang were drawn by Ateliers Jean Nouvel, with interiors by Koichiro Ikebuchi and lighting by Hervé Descottes. Their outer skin is planted: Patrick Blanc ran stainless-steel cables over the glass and trained climbing vines up them, choosing 243 species, Architectural Record noted, because sun and wind differ so much between floors.

  • 1,722–1,830 sq ftTwo bedrooms, or two plus one, with two or three bathrooms
  • 2,895 sq ftA 4+1 with five bathrooms
  • To about 4,700 sq ftThe largest homes, up to six bedrooms

The finishes you inherit, and how to dress them

Homes were handed over with floor-to-ceiling glass, silk-screened window panels, white marble floors, Poggenpohl kitchens with Miele appliances, and Lema wardrobes. Few people will want to change those, and styling should make the most of them.

The Lema wardrobes fix where beds can go; the kitchen’s palette guides the dining chairs. Beyond that, anything loose is open to discussion: we sort what came with your home into pieces to keep, to move and to return.

White stone and glass can feel cool in the evening. Deep-pile wool, washed linen, oiled timber with a visible grain and low lamps bring it back. Because the silk-screened panels already filter the daylight, curtains here are about privacy and softness at night more than shade.

With vines growing up the outside, we keep indoor plants few and large, and let the green beyond the glass carry the rest.

02Styling a home

Styling a rented Le Nouvel KLCC home

Renting at Le Nouvel KLCC still leaves a lot you can change freely: sofas, beds, rugs, lamps, curtains and art.

Anything screwed in, drilled or built needs the landlord’s written consent, and then management’s approval.

If the home came fully furnished

We start by photographing what the landlord supplied and agreeing, piece by piece, what you’d keep, move or ask to have collected. A well-made dining table can stay; an armchair you never sit in can go, if the tenancy allows.

Before buying, we try the cheaper fix: moving art to better walls, adding a lamp or two, laying one generous rug on the marble.

If it came with only the fitted pieces

A home with just the kitchen, wardrobes and light fittings is a good brief. The finishes are settled, so the furniture can be chosen to suit them, and you pay only for what you’ll use.

What the lease allows

Check the inventory list and alterations clause. Loose furniture is yours to decide. Hooks, rods and shelves leave holes and usually need the landlord’s agreement; electrical, plumbing or built-in work needs written consent and management approval.

When drilling is off the table: art on ledges or easels, floor lamps rather than new ceiling points, and felt pads on every leg so the marble is handed back unmarked.

Moving in on a deadline

Tell us the date and we schedule backwards: bedrooms set up first, the sofa and dining table ordered early because they take longest, the finishing touches last. If your shipment is still travelling, we leave room for it in every plan.

Pieces you’ll take with you

Le Nouvel living rooms are large; your next one may not be. We favour furniture that would work in a smaller room, rugs in adaptable sizes, and very little that is made to measure.

03How does styling work?

Styling at Le Nouvel KLCC, from first call to install day

A single stylist sees your Le Nouvel KLCC home through, from the first conversation to the morning everything is placed.

We design, you sign off each purchase, and we arrange it all once delivered.

On-site styling takes one to two weeks. New furniture usually needs four to twelve weeks to arrive, so we order the slow pieces first.

We check delivery hours and the lift reservation with management before booking the large items, and ask for the marble to be protected along the route in.

  1. Talking it through Complimentary
Who’s moving in, what the landlord left, what’s in transit, and when you’d like to be living there properly.
  2. A measured visit RM200, offset against the fee
Each room measured, the light through the silk-screened glass noted, and existing furniture marked keep, move or return.
  3. Fee confirmed, rooms planned
We put the rooms and fee in writing, then send a layout and buying list for each, slowest items first.
  4. Ordering
Buy from our list yourself, or let our Procurement Concierge order and schedule deliveries. We keep track of every arrival.
  5. Placing it all
Once the last box lands, your stylist sets the rooms in person: furniture positioned, art hung, lamps on, beds made.

Deliveries, a landlord’s inventory and a lease start date: we keep one list of all of it, and you can ask us for an update at any time.

04How much does styling cost?

What styling costs at Le Nouvel KLCC

We estimate styling at Le Nouvel KLCC at RM6,065–9,495 for a 2+1 and RM9,495–12,925 for a 4+1: RM1,715 a bedroom and RM2,635 for the open living and dining, agreed in writing up front.

Bedrooms plus the living and dining make up the lower figure. The upper one adds two further rooms, for instance the +1 room as a study and a dressing room. Each room styled carries the same fee, whatever its size.

4+1 2,895 sq ftFour bedrooms, living and diningRM9,495RM12,925

Estimated in October 2026; not a quotation. Furniture costs are separate and set by the shortlist you approve.

Included in styling

A call, a measuring visit, then for every room in the brief a placement plan and a list of the furniture, lighting, textiles and art to buy. When all of it has arrived, your stylist spends the day placing it.

Prefer not to manage the orders? Our Procurement Concierge handles purchasing and delivery.

05Want more than styling?

Want more than styling at Le Nouvel KLCC?

Many Le Nouvel KLCC homes need nothing more than furniture.

Some, though, have rooms that don’t suit the way their owners live.

You cook more than the kitchen was laid out for. The wardrobes hold the wrong things. A bathroom feels like a hotel’s rather than yours. That’s interior design territory.

We’ll help you separate what’s worth changing from what’s worth keeping, one room or several.

Styling fills the rooms. Interior design alters them.

06What does interior design cover?

Interior design at Le Nouvel KLCC, for the long run

At Le Nouvel KLCC a renovation is rarely about replacing worn finishes.

It’s about the few rooms that don’t yet fit how you live, worked carefully around what the architects left.

A kitchen reorganised for daily cooking, wardrobes refitted inside for what you own, a study built into the +1 room: each can be its own small project, or part of a single plan for the home.

What a Le Nouvel KLCC renovation usually covers

  • KeepMarble, glassWhite marble floors and full-height glazing, which no renovation improves on
  • AdaptWardrobesLema carcasses kept, with new interiors and lighting
  • RenewBathroomsThe rooms most likely to change on a long stay

Renovation rules at Le Nouvel KLCC

Le Nouvel’s renovation rules aren’t published, so we ask management for the current set, with deposit, permitted hours and forms, before quoting. On a facade of glass and planted cables, anything at the window line, from blinds to new fittings, is a question we put to management first.

Sundays in Bed hasn’t designed a Le Nouvel home yet; on our first call we’ll show you work we’ve done elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.

Before any works at Le Nouvel KLCC

Approvals run in sequence: the landlord’s written consent if you rent, then management’s approval under its rules, then a Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) permit where the work calls for one, applied for by your contractor.

Plumbing moves and wall removals usually need all three, so we raise them early. Styling needs none.

07How much does interior design cost?

What interior design costs at Le Nouvel KLCC

The Sundays in Bed design fee at Le Nouvel KLCC is estimated at RM16,180–23,310 for a 2+1 and RM23,310–30,440 for a 4+1, set in writing before we begin.

It covers design only; renovation and furniture are budgeted on their own.

Each room we design
RM3,565
Living and dining
RM5,485

Our figure is for the design. Renovation and furniture are a separate budget, shown underneath.

Our usual Le Nouvel brief counts each bedroom and the kitchen at RM3,565, and the open living and dining at RM5,485. That gives RM16,180 for a 2+1 and RM23,310 for a 4+1. Include a redone bathroom and the +1 as a study and they become RM23,310 and RM30,440.

Interior design comes with our Procurement Concierge, and any room needing only styling is charged at half the styling rate.

Our design fee, estimated

2 bedrooms and the kitchen: 3 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.

BespokeRM337,000 to RM664,000

Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.

What the two levels mean

Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.

Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.

Notes on the Le Nouvel KLCC figures

The kitchen is counted as a room in its own right; if yours opens onto the dining area, subtract RM3,565. We confirm on the visit. Fees are agreed in writing and paid in stages; a costlier stone shows up in the contractor’s bill, never ours.

Together, our fee and Curated renovation and furniture (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) come to roughly RM185k–309k for a 1,830 sq ft 2+1.

How the ranges were built

Priced as an older home with new floors; if you keep the marble, that share drops out. No bathroom is redesigned at the lower figure; add bathrooms in the calculator.

Wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer, hob and hood are within each range; keeping the Lema, Poggenpohl or Miele originals takes them out. Vanities are excluded.

Furnishing to let?

Readying a Le Nouvel KLCC home for a tenant? If furniture is all it needs, styling covers it. If it needs work too, our Essential level, furnished from Ikea, SSF Home or Harvey Norman, is quick to install and resilient to turnover. The design fee stays the same at every level.

FAQ

Styling and interior design questions at Le Nouvel KLCC

How do you style a Le Nouvel KLCC home around its original finishes?

As a tenant at Le Nouvel KLCC, what can I change without asking?

Anything free-standing: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains on existing tracks, art on ledges. Drilling, screwing or building in needs the landlord’s written consent, and works need management’s approval as well.

What does styling cost at Le Nouvel KLCC?

Estimated at RM6,065–9,495 for a 2+1 and RM9,495–12,925 for a 4+1. Bedrooms are RM1,715 each and the open living and dining RM2,635; the upper figure adds two rooms. Furniture is separate, and the fee is agreed in writing.

An initial call, a measuring visit, a placement plan and buying list per room, and an install day when your stylist arranges everything in person. One room or the whole home.

How quickly can a Le Nouvel KLCC home be styled?

One to two weeks on site after deliveries. New furniture typically takes four to twelve weeks, so we order the slowest pieces first, and planning can begin over video before you move.

Can I take the furniture with me when I leave Le Nouvel KLCC?

Yes, if it’s free-standing. We pick pieces that would suit a smaller room later and keep made-to-measure items rare. Fitted kitchens and wardrobes stay with the home.

What floor plans are there at Le Nouvel KLCC?

Homes run from about 1,700 to 4,700 sq ft. Listed layouts include two bedrooms or two plus one at 1,722 to 1,830 sq ft and a 4+1 with five bathrooms at 2,895 sq ft; the largest have up to six bedrooms. There are 195 homes in two towers.

Do I need interior design or styling at Le Nouvel KLCC?

Styling if the rooms suit you and just need furniture and art. Interior design if you want to change the kitchen layout, a bathroom or the wardrobe interiors. You can do one now and the other later.

What does interior design cost at Le Nouvel KLCC?

Our design fee is estimated at RM16,180–23,310 for a 2+1 and RM23,310–30,440 for a 4+1, agreed in writing. Renovation and furniture are separate: about RM169k–293k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for a 1,830 sq ft 2+1.

Does Le Nouvel KLCC have renovation rules?

Yes, though they aren’t published. We request the current rules from management, including deposit, hours and forms, before quoting. Tenants need the landlord’s consent first.

What can Sundays in Bed do for a Le Nouvel KLCC home?

Styling for tenants and owners, and interior design for kitchens, bathrooms and joinery. We prepare drawings, compare contractors’ quotes with you and supervise the works, which contractors build. Procurement Concierge can be booked on its own, and Virtual Design is for homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
