Interior designer at Kiara 1888
Moving into Kiara 1888? Let’s make it feel like home.
Maybe the keys came with bare rooms, maybe with a landlord’s sofa, maybe with a family room you haven’t found a use for. We furnish and arrange Kiara 1888 homes around the people in them, with pieces you can take along later. No renovation needed. Just a home that feels like you.

One generous sofa, a stone table, an arc lamp and a single big print. That much sets the mood of a room, and a contractor plays no part in it.

Making Kiara 1888 feel like home: floor plans and styling
Which kind of Kiara 1888 home you have, condominium, villa, penthouse or duplex, decides where styling starts.
From there we add the furniture, lamps, rugs and art, leaving walls and fittings untouched.
The name is simply the plot: lot 1888, Jalan Kiara 3. Inside, though, Kiara 1888 is a mix of home types. Beside its 130 condominium homes sit 52 the developer labelled villas, each a 3+1 with a lift lobby of its own and a large family room, and at the top are penthouses and duplexes.
- 1,238–1,927 sq ftCondominium homes, types F, E and D
- 2,314–2,390 sq ftVilla homes, 3+1, own lift lobby and a family room
- 2,723–3,466 sq ftPenthouse homes
- 3,542–3,982 sq ftDuplex homes
Sizes are the developer’s types as StarProperty lists them. Bedroom numbers are published only for the villa homes; for the rest we count when we visit, and measure regardless.
The family room question
In a villa home the family room is where we begin, because an extra sitting room drifts into a dumping ground unless it has a job. We ask what your evenings look like. Films get a low deep sofa and the television; homework and board games get a long table and good overhead light; a reader gets one chair, one lamp and shelves.
Built-in joinery stays and guides the rest: wardrobe doors fix where a bed can sit, and the kitchen finish sets the palette for the dining chairs. Furniture the previous occupant left is kept, moved or sent back piece by piece. Things you’ve brought come first for the walls that matter.
The +1 can be a study, a guest room or a place for empty suitcases between trips; its window and size settle which.
Styling a rented Kiara 1888 home
Tenants at Kiara 1888 can change any loose furnishing: sofas, lamps, rugs, curtains, pictures.
Fixing things to walls, adding joinery or doing works needs the landlord’s consent on paper, then the building management’s approval.
Starting from a landlord’s furniture
With two sitting rooms in a villa home, the landlord’s pieces are often in the wrong one. A spare sofa can anchor the family room, freeing the living room for something lighter. We list everything first and decide together what stays.
Before buying, we rearrange. The right rug under the seating and lamps at sitting height do a surprising amount for a Kiara 1888 room.
What your lease lets you do
Look at the furnishing and alterations clauses together with us. Freestanding pieces need no one’s permission. Hooks, rods and shelving leave holes, so ask; anything hacked, wired, plumbed or built in needs written consent and the management’s sign-off after.
Ways round a refusal: a ledge or console for pictures, a freestanding rail in the +1, plug-in lamps for the dim corners, and curtains on whatever track is there now.
Moving in to a date
Give us the date at the start. Slow furniture, the sofa and the dining table, is ordered first and the soft furnishings last; bedrooms are ready before anything else so nobody spends week one on a mattress on the floor.
If a container is still on its way, we plan around its arrival: every room measured, a layout drawn, and space held for what is in it.
Buying for the home after this
If Kiara 1888 is one posting among several, we buy for portability. A modular sofa that splits works in a duplex now and a smaller flat later; made-to-measure pieces are kept to a minimum.
Owners readying a home to let
A Kiara 1888 owner between tenants can restyle without works: kitchen and wardrobes as they are, loose pieces replaced where worn, rooms finished for viewings. Homes that also need works are covered under Furnishing to let below.
Styling at Kiara 1888, from first call to install day
Your Kiara 1888 home has a single stylist throughout, from that opening call to the final cushion.
We draw up the rooms, you sign off what is bought, and we arrange everything when it lands.
Arranging takes one to two weeks. New furniture usually needs four to twelve weeks before it reaches you, so the pieces that take longest are picked first.
Villa homes share their lifts between two homes per floor, so delivery slots and the lift to use are agreed with management before the big items are scheduled.
- A conversation about your household ComplimentaryWho is moving in, what the shipment holds, what the landlord left behind, and the night you’d like to sleep at Kiara 1888.
- Measuring the home RM200, credited against the fee if you continueEvery room taped, the family room and +1 studied, and existing furniture marked keep, move or return.
- Fee agreed, plans drawnThe rooms and fee are put in writing first. Placement plans and a shopping list follow, slowest items listed first.
- Ordering when it suits youBuy from the list yourself or pass it to our Procurement Concierge. We keep a running record of arrivals and gaps.
- Setting up the roomsWith everything in, your stylist places the furniture, hangs the art, switches on the lamps and makes up the beds.
A container on the water, a landlord’s inventory, a family room nobody has claimed: it adds up. We keep track of it all, and you can check where things are at any point.
What styling costs at Kiara 1888
Styling a three-bedroom or 3+1 at Kiara 1888 is estimated at RM7,780–11,210 in fees: RM1,715 per room styled, RM2,635 for the open-plan living and dining, confirmed in writing before we start.
RM7,780 covers three bedrooms and the living and dining. RM11,210 adds two rooms, which in a villa home are usually the family room and the +1. There are no complimentary rooms in styling, and floor area doesn’t change a room’s fee.
| Kiara 1888 home | What the lower fee styles | Lower fee | Two rooms more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Condominium 1,238–1,927 sq ft | Three bedrooms with the living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
| Villa, 3+1 2,314–2,390 sq ft | Three bedrooms with the living and dining | RM7,780 | RM11,210 |
Working: RM1,715 × 3 is RM5,145, plus RM2,635 makes RM7,780; two extra rooms add RM3,430 for RM11,210. We have assumed three bedrooms in the condominium homes, and each room either way shifts the fee by RM1,715. Duplexes and penthouses are counted room by room when we visit.
An October 2026 estimate; the visit produces the actual quote. Furniture is bought on top, from a shortlist pitched at your budget.
Inside the styling fee
A first conversation by video or in person, working from your plan and photos. A visit to Kiara 1888 to measure and to go through your existing things, which get used before anything new is suggested. For each room you then receive a placement plan and a shopping list covering furniture, art hanging, lighting, textiles and accessories. When deliveries are complete, your stylist sets each room up in person.
If ordering isn’t how you want to spend your evenings, our Procurement Concierge can place orders, chase paperwork and receive deliveries for you.
Want more than styling at Kiara 1888?
Often a Kiara 1888 home only needs the right furniture.
Sometimes the furniture is fine and it is the 2008 kitchen that isn’t.
Wardrobe interiors that never suited your clothes, a bathroom from another era: those call for interior design rather than styling.
We help you sort what to keep, what to replace and where spending properly pays off, from a single room up to the whole home.
Styling makes the home you have feel like yours. Interior design reshapes the home where it falls short.
Interior design at Kiara 1888, when home needs a little more
Kiara 1888 homes give you room to work with, and the villa homes add a family room.
Close to eighteen years on from completion, some original kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes are ready for a rethink.
Once you want to change the home itself, we plan it with you. There is no need to do the whole place at once; room by room works well, starting where it matters.

Renovation rules at Kiara 1888
Kiara 1888’s renovation rules don’t appear to be published, so ahead of any quote we ask the building management for its latest copy, including the deposit, working hours and application forms. We have not designed a Kiara 1888 home ourselves yet; on the first call we take you through homes we’ve designed elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.
Before any works at Kiara 1888
Three approvals, one after another. Renting? Your landlord signs off first, in writing. The management then approves under its own rules. If the job calls for a local council permit, your chosen contractor applies for it.
Shifting plumbing, removing a wall or anything structural tends to need all three, which is why we raise it on day one. Styling that drills nothing requires none.

Reading the Kiara 1888 figures
The kitchen counts as a room on the assumption it is enclosed. If yours opens to the dining area, deduct RM3,565; the visit tells us which. We fix our fee in writing and bill it in stages, so choosing a dearer stone moves the contractor’s figure, not ours.
Design fee and Curated renovation and furniture (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) together come to about RM216k–379k for a 2,357 sq ft villa home.
| Kiara 1888 home | Our design fee | Curated | Bespoke |
|---|---|---|---|
| Condominium 1,238–1,927 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM194k–336k | RM383k–752k |
| Villa, 3+1 2,314–2,390 sq ft | RM19,745–26,875 | RM196k–359k | RM386k–802k |
Curated furniture comes from Commune, Cellini and Poet Living; Bespoke from Space Furniture, BoConcept and Molteni&C. Both columns show renovation plus furniture, excluding our fee.
Estimates as of October 2026, ahead of a quotation.
How the ranges were built
Every range assumes a resale home with new flooring. The lower figure redesigns no bathroom; use the calculator to add any you would change.
Wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry, bedroom air-conditioners, a washer-dryer, hob and hood are all inside the ranges. Keep ones you have and the number falls. Vanities sit outside.
