01Making it feel like home

Making Arcoris Mont Kiara feel like home: floor plans and styling

To make an Arcoris Mont Kiara suite feel like home, start with scale: furniture that fits, light in the right places, and a few things that are unmistakably yours.

No works are needed. The plans below show the two main sizes.

Arcoris is almost a neighbourhood in itself. On six acres of Mont Kiara, Sunrise put business suites, SoHo units and a hotel into a 35-storey Southern tower, laid plazas of shops, restaurants and courtyards between the buildings, and gave the homes, Arcoris Residences, the 18-storey Northern tower to themselves. It was completed in 2016.

Living above a plaza changes what a home has to do. Coffee, dinner and a meeting room are a lift ride away, so the rooms upstairs can be calmer: a sofa for evenings, a table that serves as a desk by day, a bedroom that closes the door on everything below.

  • About 850 sq ftTwo bedrooms
  • Up to about 2,000 sq ftThree bedrooms

These are the typical sizes in StarProperty’s guide to the development. Plans vary from stack to stack, so we measure yours on the visit.

Small rooms, and the second bedroom

We found no record of what Arcoris homes contained at handover, and in ten years most will have been furnished more than once. What is built in stays and shapes the plan; loose furniture belonging to someone else is a question for its owner.

In a two-bedroom of roughly 850 sq ft, proportion matters more than style. An extending table that seats four on weekdays and six on Saturday, a sofa with narrow arms, a bed with drawers beneath it: each one buys back floor.

Decide early what the second bedroom is for. A home office for the days you skip the commute, a room for visiting family, or both, with a sofa bed that passes for a sofa.

02Styling a home

Styling a rented Arcoris Mont Kiara home

In a rented Arcoris Mont Kiara suite, everything you can lift is yours to change: seating, rugs, lamps, curtains and pictures.

Fixings, joinery and wiring need your landlord’s signed agreement, then management’s.

One piece too many

Landlord furniture in a compact suite tends to fail in one place: a sofa too deep for the room, or a dining set that blocks the path to the window. We find that piece, suggest swapping or removing it, and the rest of the room falls into place around it.

After that come the softer layers that make it yours: a rug to mark out the sitting area, light at two or three heights, your own colours on the cushions and your pictures on the walls.

Hooks, rods and the alterations clause

Freestanding pieces are yours to bring and take. Holes in walls, for hooks, rods or shelves, normally need your landlord’s agreement; anything built in, rewired or replumbed needs it in writing, then management’s approval as well.

Without a drill: a picture ledge resting on a sideboard, a standing rail for clothes, plug-in wall lights on a cable, and curtains on the existing track.

Arriving with a date

Share your move-in date at the start. Sofas and dining tables are ordered first because they take longest; the bedroom is styled first so you sleep well from night one, and the finishing touches arrive last.

Furniture that suits the next place

Pieces sized for an Arcoris suite move easily: a compact sofa, a table with leaves, nesting side tables, and lamps, rugs and art that fit anywhere. If the next home is larger, they become its starting point rather than something to sell.

03How does styling work?

Styling at Arcoris Mont Kiara, from first call to install day

One stylist takes your Arcoris Mont Kiara suite from the first conversation to the finished rooms.

We plan, you choose and buy, and we return to set it all out.

Expect a week or two of styling once the furniture is in, and four to twelve weeks for most new pieces to arrive. That is why we settle the sofa and table first.

With a hotel, offices and shops on the same site, deliveries need planning. We confirm with management the entrance, the lift and the hours for furniture before anything is booked.

  1. A conversation Free
Who lives here, what the suite came with, what you are bringing, and when you need to be in.
  2. A visit RM200, credited to the fee if we go ahead
Rooms measured, the second bedroom given a purpose, the existing furniture listed.
  3. Fee, then plans
Your fee in writing, then a plan for each room drawn to its real size, with a list of pieces.
  4. Ordering
Buy it yourself or let our Procurement Concierge place the orders; we keep track of deliveries.
  5. Styling day
Furniture placed, art up, lamps on and the bed made once everything has arrived.

A tenancy, a run of deliveries and a busy building add up to a lot of loose ends. We hold them together, and you can check in with us whenever you like.

04How much does styling cost?

What styling costs at Arcoris Mont Kiara

Our styling fee at Arcoris Mont Kiara is an estimated RM6,065–7,780 for two bedrooms and RM7,780–11,210 for three.

Each room is RM1,715, the living and dining RM2,635 together, and you have the total in writing before we begin.

The lower figure covers the bedrooms and the living and dining. The higher figure adds one more room to a two-bedroom home, a study or a bathroom, and two more to a three-bedroom home over 1,200 sq ft. A small room costs the same as a large one, and no room is styled free.

Arcoris Mont Kiara styling fee, estimated
HomeStyled at the lower figureStarting atUp to
Two bedrooms about 850 sq ftTwo bedrooms, living and diningRM6,065RM7,780
Three bedrooms up to about 2,000 sq ftThree bedrooms, living and diningRM7,780RM11,210

Two bedrooms at RM1,715 each plus the living and dining at RM2,635 make RM6,065; one room more makes RM7,780. Three bedrooms with the living and dining make RM7,780, or RM11,210 with two rooms more. Living and dining are counted as one open space. Bigger homes get a room-by-room figure after the visit.

These are October 2026 estimates. You buy the furniture yourself, choosing from a shortlist set to your budget.

How an Arcoris styling project runs

It opens with a conversation, at your table or on screen, around your plan and a few photos. A visit follows to measure up and see what you have; we use your own pieces wherever they fit. Each room then gets a plan showing where everything goes and a list of what to buy, down to the lamps and textiles. Once it has all been delivered, your stylist comes back to put the rooms together.

Prefer not to deal with orders and deliveries? Our Procurement Concierge does it for you.

05Want more than styling?

Want more than styling at Arcoris Mont Kiara?

An Arcoris Mont Kiara suite often needs nothing beyond good furniture.

Sometimes, though, the kitchen simply hasn’t got enough cupboards.

The wardrobes lack drawers. The bathroom does its job and no more. That is where interior design takes over.

We help you choose what to leave, what to change and what to do properly, from one room to the whole suite.

Furniture and styling make the suite yours; design reworks the suite itself.

06What does interior design cover?

Interior design at Arcoris Mont Kiara, when home needs a little more

Arcoris Mont Kiara suites are compact and well located.

A decade after completion, some kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes are due a fresh look.

When you’ve furnished the home and still want it to work better, design is the next step, and we help you choose where to start.

A compact home repays a little effort. Kitchen cupboards run to the ceiling, a wardrobe fitted out with drawers and a long mirror, a bathroom with a vanity you can actually use: any one of them changes daily life. Start with the room you use most and leave the rest for later.

What an Arcoris Mont Kiara renovation usually covers

  • KeepLayoutTwo- and three-bedroom plans that rarely need walls moved
  • AdaptWardrobesBetter inner fittings can double what a wardrobe holds
  • RenewKitchen, bathsWhat a longer stay usually redoes, a room at a time
  • CheckPlan, kitchenWhether the kitchen is open or closed, and the ceiling height, on the visit

Your sale or tenancy papers record what came with the home; we match them against the rooms.

Renovation rules at Arcoris Mont Kiara

A site that mixes homes with offices, a hotel and shops keeps a close eye on contractors: where they enter, when they work, which lift they use. The Arcoris rules aren’t published, so we request them from management, with the deposit and forms, before pricing anything.

An Arcoris home would be new ground for us; on the first call we show you what we have designed elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur.

Approvals needed for works at Arcoris Mont Kiara

As a tenant, you start with your landlord’s signed consent. All homes then need management’s approval in writing, on the building’s terms, and some jobs also need a council permit, applied for by your contractor.

Relocating a sink, removing a wall or touching the structure tends to need all three, which is why we ask about it at the start. Freestanding styling needs no approval at all.

Interior design fees at Arcoris Mont Kiara

07How much does interior design cost?

What interior design costs at Arcoris Mont Kiara

At Arcoris Mont Kiara our design fee is an estimated RM16,180–19,745 for two bedrooms and RM19,745–26,875 for three, agreed in writing before we begin.

That pays for the design; works and furniture have budgets of their own.

Each room we design
RM3,565
Living and dining
RM5,485

Our fee is for the design service. Renovation and furniture are separate budgets, shown below.

We price an Arcoris brief at RM3,565 for each bedroom and the kitchen, and RM5,485 for the living and dining. Two bedrooms and a kitchen with the living space come to RM16,180; three bedrooms and a kitchen to RM19,745. At the upper end, a bathroom is added to the smaller home (RM19,745) and two bathrooms to the larger one (RM26,875).

A design commission brings the Procurement Concierge with it at no extra charge, and any room needing only styling is done at half price.

Our design fee, estimated

2 bedrooms and the kitchen: 3 rooms at RM3,565, plus the open-plan living and dining at RM5,485. The foyer and any yard or service area are designed free.

BespokeRM337,000 to RM664,000

Within each level, the lower figure covers the essentials; the upper figure adds extras such as a feature wall, LED strips and a kitchen island.

What the two levels mean

Curated. Melamine or laminate carpentry, quartz or sintered stone tops, the existing ceiling kept or a new plaster ceiling. Furniture from Commune, Cellini, Fella Design, Dezign District, Poet Living, Big Brain, Gudang, Crown Livin and Dadswood.

Bespoke. Detailed joinery, sintered stone tops, a plaster ceiling with detailing. Furniture from Space Furniture, Tekni, BoConcept, King Living, Ambient Living, Stanzo, Forest Furniture, Roche Bobois, XTRA, Urban Edge, Molteni&C, Nostaloft, Flexform, Janine and Chesters Collection.

About these numbers

The estimate treats the kitchen as its own room. Many compact suites have an open kitchen; if yours does, it is part of the living space and the figure drops by RM3,565. We pay stages against a written agreement, and a costlier worktop shows up in the builder’s price, never in ours.

For an 850 sq ft two-bedroom, our fee together with works and furniture at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) lands at roughly RM185k–310k.

FAQ

Styling and interior design questions at Arcoris Mont Kiara

Can you restyle a furnished suite at Arcoris Mont Kiara?

Yes, and it usually starts by removing rather than adding. In an Arcoris Mont Kiara suite, one oversized landlord piece often crowds the room; once it is swapped or moved, a rug, better lamps and your own art finish the job.

Do I need my landlord’s approval to style an Arcoris Mont Kiara suite?

Only for anything attached to the walls. Freestanding furniture, rugs, lamps and leaning art need no approval at Arcoris Mont Kiara; hooks, shelves, joinery or wiring need the landlord’s written consent and then management’s. We check your tenancy wording with you first.

How much is interior styling at Arcoris Mont Kiara?

Estimated at RM6,065 to RM7,780 for a two-bedroom suite and RM7,780 to RM11,210 for a three-bedroom at Arcoris Mont Kiara. Bedrooms are RM1,715 each, the living and dining RM2,635; the top of each range adds one or two rooms. The fee is set in writing first, and furniture is a separate cost.

Will you style only one room at Arcoris Mont Kiara?

Gladly. Many Arcoris Mont Kiara residents start with the living room, or with a bedroom that doubles as an office, and add rooms later at the same per-room fee. You still get the visit, the room plan, the list and the styling day.

How quickly can you style an Arcoris Mont Kiara suite?

Within one to two weeks once furniture has arrived; new orders usually take four to twelve weeks. For an Arcoris Mont Kiara move we order the slowest pieces first, and the first conversation can be on video before you fly in.

How do you style a two-bedroom at Arcoris without crowding it?

By choosing size before style. In a two-bedroom of about 850 sq ft at Arcoris, we pick a sofa with slim arms, an extending dining table, a bed with storage under it and lamps instead of extra side tables, and we keep a clear line from the door to the window.

What are the floor plans at Arcoris Residences?

Arcoris Residences, the homes at Arcoris Mont Kiara, are mostly two bedrooms of about 850 sq ft and three bedrooms of up to about 2,000 sq ft. There are 331 of them, all in the 18-storey Northern tower; the business suites, SoHo units and hotel are in the Southern tower.

Is styling enough for an Arcoris Mont Kiara suite, or do I need interior design?

Styling is enough when the suite works and simply doesn’t feel like yours. Choose interior design when something built in needs to change, such as kitchen storage, wardrobe fittings or a bathroom, at Arcoris Mont Kiara. Starting with styling and adding design later is common.

What is the interior design fee at Arcoris Mont Kiara?

An estimated RM16,180 to RM19,745 for two bedrooms and RM19,745 to RM26,875 for three at Arcoris Mont Kiara, agreed in writing first. It covers the bedrooms, kitchen and living and dining, with one or two extra rooms at the top of each range. Works and furniture are budgeted separately: about RM169k to RM293k at Curated (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) for an 850 sq ft two-bedroom.

Does Arcoris Mont Kiara restrict renovations?

Works need management’s approval at Arcoris Mont Kiara, and on a mixed site of homes, offices and a hotel the conditions matter. The rules aren’t online, so we ask for the current set, deposit and forms included, before quoting. Tenants also need the landlord’s written consent.

What interior design services do you offer at Arcoris Mont Kiara?

At Arcoris Mont Kiara we style serviced residences room by room, for renters and owners alike, and design kitchens, bathrooms and wardrobes that make a compact home work harder. We draw the plans, compare contractors’ quotes with you and manage the works on site, and contractors do the building. Interior styling and our Procurement Concierge are available without a full design, and Virtual Design looks after homes outside Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
