Damansara Villa floor plans, and making one feel like home

Styling a Damansara Villa flat works with what it already has and adds furniture, lighting, rugs and art, without any works.

MyRumahBaru lists seven plans, from about 1,335 sq ft with two or three bedrooms to about 2,000 sq ft with four.

Lum Chang completed Damansara Villa in 1993: an eight-storey block of about 52 homes at the end of a cul-de-sac on Jalan Bukit Ledang, reached from Jalan Duta and tucked in behind Jalan Semantan. StarProperty counts a pool, a gym, a squash court and a barbecue area downstairs, and notes that most of the flats have since been renovated, many with new kitchen cabinets.

  • about 1,335–1,337 sq ftTypes A and B: three bedrooms or two, two bathrooms
  • about 1,510–1,516 sq ftTypes C and D: three bedrooms, two or three bathrooms
  • about 1,979–1,980 sq ftTypes E and F: three or four bedrooms, three bathrooms
  • about 2,000 sq ftType G: four bedrooms, three bathrooms

Plans as MyRumahBaru lists them. With so many flats redone, yours may no longer match its original drawing; we measure.

Living with a Damansara Villa layout

A flat renovated by a past owner arrives with someone else’s decisions: a kitchen colour, a wardrobe finish, a ceiling light. We style around the ones that work and soften the rest with rugs, lamps and textiles rather than tools.

Two of the plans are nearly 2,000 sq ft. One bedroom often becomes a study or a guest room, and giving it a clear purpose, rather than letting it fill with boxes, changes how the whole flat feels.

The block is low and the lane is quiet, so evenings count here: warm lamps at different heights, a dining table that seats everyone, curtains that fall all the way to the floor.

02Styling a home

Styling a rented Damansara Villa home

Renting at Damansara Villa, you can bring in or move anything free-standing: furniture, rugs, lamps, curtains, art.

Anything screwed, hacked or built needs the landlord’s written consent first, then management’s.

When the flat was refitted for letting

Landlord refits tend to be neutral and hard-wearing. We add warmth where it is missing: a wool rug on cool tiles, linen at the windows, a lamp in each corner the ceiling light doesn’t reach.

No drilling allowed

Art on a picture ledge or a deep sideboard, a mirror that leans, plug-in wall lights on a fabric cord, a café curtain on a tension rod in the kitchen.

Settling in quickly

We style the bedrooms first, so you sleep well from the first night, then the living and dining as the larger pieces arrive.

Pieces worth taking with you

A good sofa, a dining table, lamps and art outlast a tenancy. We choose them to fit these rooms and the next home after them.

Letting your own flat

Refreshing a Damansara Villa flat between tenants with furniture alone needs no permits. If it needs works, see the to-let note below.

03How does styling work?

How styling a Damansara Villa flat works, start to finish

At Damansara Villa, your stylist plans each room with you, you approve the list, and when the pieces arrive we arrange the flat in a few days, down to the cushions and the books on the shelf.

Expect four to twelve weeks for new furniture to arrive, then a week or two in the flat. The large pieces are ordered first.

With about 52 homes and a single cul-de-sac entrance, deliveries need a little planning. We agree times with management and the guardhouse, so a lorry is never left waiting in the lane.

  1. A conversation first Free
Who’s moving in, what you’re bringing, which plan you have and when you need it ready.
  2. A visit to measure RM200, deducted if you go ahead with us
Each room measured, the existing kitchen and wardrobes noted, the light checked at the windows.
  3. Your fee, then your plan
The rooms and fee agreed in writing, then a placement plan and a buying list per room.
  4. Buying the pieces
You order from the list, and we keep a note of every delivery date for you.
  5. Install day
Everything in, your stylist arranges the rooms, hangs the art and dresses the beds.

If a delivery slips, or a colour reads differently in your light, tell your stylist; we adjust the plan around it.

04How much does styling cost?

What styling costs at Damansara Villa

Styling a Damansara Villa flat is estimated at RM6,065–9,495 with two bedrooms, RM7,780–11,210 with three and RM9,495–12,925 with four: RM1,715 per room and RM2,635 for living and dining together, agreed in writing before we start.

The bedrooms plus living and dining make the lower figure. Every plan here is over 1,200 sq ft, so the upper figure allows two more rooms, for example the kitchen and a study. Small rooms are charged the same as large ones.

05Want more than styling?

Want more than styling at Damansara Villa?

Many Damansara Villa flats were renovated by earlier owners, and furniture is all they need.

Others still have their 1993 bathrooms, or a kitchen that has been patched more than once.

Doors that drop on their hinges. A bathroom tiled in a colour from another decade. That’s when interior design earns its place.

We help you weigh what’s worth keeping, what to replace and what to do properly, in one room or across the whole flat.

Styling dresses the rooms you have. Interior design rebuilds the ones that need it.

06What does interior design cover?

Interior design at Damansara Villa, for the long run

Damansara Villa’s rooms are generous and the block is quiet.

More than thirty years on, wiring, plumbing and any original bathrooms are where a longer stay usually begins.

Because flats here have been redone at different times, no two start in the same place. One might need only new wardrobes and lighting; the next, a full strip-out back to the slab.

Renovation rules at Damansara Villa

Damansara Villa’s management sets the rules for works, and we found no published copy. Before quoting, we ask for the latest version, the deposit and the permitted hours.

There’s no Damansara Villa flat among our projects yet. On the first call we show you homes we’ve designed in Damansara Heights.

Before any works at Damansara Villa

For a rented flat, the owner’s consent in writing comes first. Then management, and where a permit applies, Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), with your contractor making the application.

Re-routing plumbing or removing a wall typically needs all three, so we bring it up at the start. Furniture-only styling needs none of them.

Living and dining
RM5,485

Our fee is for the design. Renovation and furniture are budgets of their own, set out below.

A whole-flat brief designs each bedroom and the kitchen at RM3,565 and the living and dining as one at RM5,485. Two bedrooms: 3 × RM3,565 + RM5,485 = RM16,180. Three: RM19,745. Four: RM23,310. With two bathrooms done as well: RM23,310, RM26,875 and RM30,440.

Within an interior design project, rooms that only want furniture are styled at half the usual styling rate.

Reading the Damansara Villa estimates

We count a closed kitchen as one room. If an earlier renovation opened it up, it joins the living and dining and RM3,565 comes off.

A three-bedroom type D with Curated renovation and furniture (Commune, Cellini, Poet Living) comes to about RM214k–356k, our fee included.
