A modern industrial home

The photographer arrived with a clear brief and a harder problem folded inside it: the new home needed to feel like an extension of a working eye, someone who spends all day reading light, contrast and negative space, and wanted to come home to more of the same rather than a retreat from it. A monochromatic, industrial palette was the starting point. The risk sat close behind it: strip a home down to charcoal, concrete and blackened steel and it can read as a showroom rather than somewhere to actually live. The brief for Sundays in Bed was to hold that discipline without losing warmth, and to build a space that could carry a working photographer's equipment and an ordinary evening at home in equal measure.
